RRH socks

After all the air show socks, I decided to knit a pair for myself. One of my favorite patterns is Adrienne Fong's Round Robyn's House. I'm using Patonyle dyed in the crock pot with Wilton's teal frosting dye. The first one is finished and I've done one lace repeat on the second. I'll ask my friend to take a pic when she visits this week. I'll post the yardage after Fred calculates it when the 2nd one is finished. This pattern is written beautifully and once you knit one pair, you'll want to make many more.

custom YFM socks

I finished the custom YFM socks for Fred (Gridiron by Anne Hanson) and he wore them to a fly-in and dazzled the other pilots. I washed them to find that the blue I had dyed didn't run, but the Cascade Heritage red yarn did. Pink stripes mostly washed out by using a bar of soap. The eucalyptus oil in the wool soaps here seems to draw out the color. Fred thinks I got almost all of it out, but Adrienne came up with a great idea which I'll do when he returns from the big air show. I'll cut off the cuffs and knit them again. Seems everything on this pair has to be twice. First I have to wait for the order of more red yarn from the States. I only have 6 gms left of the original and with my luck lately, would probably need more. I do have another colorway which I can use AFTER reskeining and washing it ahead of time. I had to do that with the blue after discovering it ran, but at least I could wash it out before knitting the socks. The socks fit beautifully and he loves wearing them. I'm using an old camera and will take a pic of the air show sock collection and post after my repaired one is returned to me end of March (I HOPE!).

52 Week Challenge - Brenda (Owlsrook)

Bluebell Rib Socks in Progress - I have just started the heel flap on sock one of this pair, using Paton's Stretch Socks, lightweight cotton blend. The cuff is 5 inches and this is a six stitch repeat over six rows for the Bluebell Rib.

Here we say goodbye to the Chevron Socks in DGB yarn, these have been sent to the very deepest end of the Frog Pond, never to surface again in sock form. Reason, there are just not any sunglasses dark enough to allow a person to wear the completed item in public. The yarn will remain in stash until such time as I find a pattern that shouts, I need Neon.

Oh well, onwards we go.

52 week progress March

Hi I decided to make a pair of socks for my daughter out of the yarn left over from my Olympic socks KAL. She has large feet for her age and I will be stressed out this month. But, I am going to give it a try (to get it finished in time and stay on track.) I so will need prayer on this one. And for my hubby who has been out of work since the third week of December too! Hope you all have a great March.

Jody

Two pairs of socks

One pair finished in February, and one pair in March. Unfortunately I have been offline for a while, due to a transfer from one provider to another. That did not go smoothly, and took longer than expected. In the mean time the flu struck too... had to take a rest from knitting as well.

The first pair is a pair in Panda Soy Ecru, done for the 50 states book that Dr Laura is going to release in June, in coöperation with Crystal Palace Yarns. This is the sock for the state of Tennessee, called Music.

The second pair is done in Trekking XXL 154, and for Alexa. I used 340 yards in this pair, and the rest of the yarn went into the blanket. I still have 20 cm to go to finish the blanket...and boy, that one is getting heavy! (cast on March 1st, finished March 3rd)

The Main Man's Sock Are DONE

AND they've been worn. Does life really get any better than this??? Okay, I'm sure it does. But for a dreary grey mid-twenty degree day, I'm TAKING it and RUNNING!!!

I used about 375 yds of Knitpicks Bare in chestnuts burning over an open fire.

I'm still plugging along on D's birthday sweater and need to snap some other progress pics.

Happy Knitting!

March Project: 50 States HI Sock

Here's the progress shot of my March project, it's the sock I designed that's going to be in the upcoming book on cd 50 Socks - 50 States. I'm very honored and excited to be included in this project and I'm very happy with what I came up with for Hawaii, here's the one sock I just finished:

The inspiration for this sock was the beautiful but deadly display of colors from a volcano eruption, especially the contrast of black and oranges, something like this:

I used Crystal Palace's Panda Cotton in Jet Black and Red Cinnamon.

52 week challenge - Another FO :~)

Picture of socks before completion:

And here are the socks I finished for my friend Becky. They are nice & colorful - she chose the color, LOL.

Plain vanilla pattern, Lana Grossa Meilenweit Inca, color 1528; on 2.25mm circular by Magic Loop method.

Finished 2-28-09!!!

52 Week Challange - Debbie (Grandma 07)

Thought I'd add a progress picture of my Autumn in NY shawl. There are now about 125 rows done and so far I've used a ball and a half of Mini Mochi in the Autumn colorway. I really like the way the colors blend together so that it's hard to tell where the new ball was started. My plan is to finish this for my March project.
