September Prime Time Bags

September ZIPPED by. A puppy joined the family, and there was little knitting. But I did manage to squeak out 300 yards in a trio of bags: An oddball project bag, a Droid case, and a felted protective holder for Marc's laser sighter :

September Primetime Project

WIP Pic

Finished Pic

I started these socks on the plane on my way to Orlando to see The Wonderful World of Harry Potter at Universal. It was 11 hours of travel each way so plenty of knitting time. The pattern is Devil`s Snare (also Harry Potter inspired). I used Knitpicks Tonal in Canapy and used 80gm (so nearly 370 yrds).

September KAL

I had done three mobius ripple cowls, however I only have a progress photo for one. Thanks to some formating with my computer, I lost my pics I did for September, fortunately I blog about my projects and had progress photo for the pink shawl I made for my daughter. The yardage for the shawl is at 500 yards. The mobius cowl is made with Mini Mochi. I recycled the yarn from a previous project.

2011 Prime Time September

I wanted a pair of simple black tabi socks to wear with my ubiquitous flipflops, but I dislike knitting with solid black, so I knit the socks in some inexpensive yarn, then dyed them black with Rit Fabic Dye.

Yarn: Serenity Sock Yarn, 71 grams/306 yards
Needles: 2.25mm
Pattern: my own

send in the clowns

i had so much fun with the yarn and pattern that i designed, wrote up the pattern AND knit BOTH socks in less than a month! (and that includes frogging an entire leg too!) ok, how many of you "thudded?"

Prime Time September

Here is my September projects: Ophidia by Silvia Harding. The yarn is Pagewood Farm Hand Dyed Sock Yarn in Really Red. Using Signature size US 5 3.75mm. Started this on the train to Sock Summit 11 the end of July. Took a beading class with Silvia Harding and wanted to use what we learned right away. I used size 8 seed beads in black. After I finished the veil I worked on this. Fun and easy knit.

I decided I needed to make a pair of sock so I test knit this pattern Autumn Moon Socks. I though it would be a great pattern to use some of that yarn you know is going to pool crazy. And with the slip stitches I didn't get that clown barf that I do hate. I used some yarn that has been in the stash for a while I bought it back in 2007 so it is old. The yarn is by Stroud Wool in England their Socrates in the colorway Genevieve. I really like how this turned out.

This is a picture of the never ending project I will continue to add and make it grow bigger but at least I can see it all now. Unfortunately it is all sock yarn and some lace that is just now starting to grow. I want to make a sweater but don't have any yarn to make one so i guess that I get to shop for more yarn. That should be fun.
Keep warm and happy knitting, Bye4.

Holiday KAL

I'm in for the holiday(or not) knitting. The first project is knit in Dream in Color Smooshy. It's a Ravelry SKA KAL, which had to be knit in chartreuse. My color is called Spring Tickle and the pattern is Watercress. Size 2.25 mm - #1 needles.

Prime Time update

I have another pair of socks finished for Prime Time September. The first pair of socks has small feet. Two pairs of socks will surely qualify. Actually I meant for the second pair to be the Prime Time one.

Pattern: Aragorn by Janneke Maat
Yarn: Sushi sock from the Unique Sheep
Needles 3.0mm

Need more leafy greens?

I was told to have more " Leafy Greens"....so I am! ( Ha Ha)

This is a bastard-ized version of Sun in Cold Water -- I just loved the leaf pattern. It is an easy crescent shaped shawl.

I am doing this in CYP Meringue in Aloe. I have about 600 yds to play with...but I don't think it'll take that much. I love the way this yarn holds the pattern. I am not sure if I will finish this project this month, or if it will be for October.

Now to find something(s) for Holiday KAL.

Prime Time KAL - 9/11 Finished

This month I made a Christmas stocking for my grandson, Bobby. I used Encore Chunky yarn - just short of two skeins (143 yards per skein) - size 8 needles and a pattern from Christmas Stockings 18 Holiday Treasures to Knit. I designed the tree and packages on my own...which is saying something for me. The stocking is approximately 20 inches from top to bottom.
I also knit a pair of baby socks for a friend's grandbaby using left over Paton's Look at Me yarn and size 3 needles... and a dishcloth out of Lily Sugar & Cream yarn (approx 75 yards)for my daughter... her wedding shower is next week.

Holiday (or not) KAL!

My first pair of lacy socks!
