Finished project for September
Busy September
I love Ravelry. Through one of the groups I joined, I got to knit a sample for Jennie the potter in her Homebrew lace yarn color Prairie Sky. Started Aug 17, finished Sep 20. Needles US2/ 2.75mm. Used 40g of yarn, about 436yds/398.7m.
Then I also came across a request to test a larger size of the whirligig shrug for Stefanie Japel. Started Aug 26, finished Sep 11. Needles US5.3.75mm, yarn Bernat Softee Baby from a few years ago, used almost the whole skein, around 400yds.

Black Tie, Optional
holiday gift (for me!)
I've wanted to make this scarf for a long time now and started a couple of days ago. 4 lace repeats finished at a comfortable pace. Really like this yarn a lot (as you all know by now LOL) and I know it will block beautifully and hold the shape.
Pattern is by our own Adrienne Fong and is called "Forever and A Day". Very nice pattern and I think this scarf will be a classic for many years. A bit frustrating that the summer weather is coming soon here down under. I still think in terms of the northern hemisphere regarding weather and the name of the month most of the time. Those of you up there might want to treat yourself to making this scarf soon. You'll love it. :)

holiday 3
Hi, here are my Kristen Kapur socks in Natures Palette's walnut. I am not sure where the cast on progress post is so here is both. I used 2.5mm needles and got them finished fairly fast. I like the yarn but not the pattern. I found out that I can mess up a basic ribbing sock as easy as a lace one. So, I want pretty.
holiday or not knits!
i have an "in the land of oz" shawlette halfway down the lace section (and just noticed that i "caught" just part of the yarn on one of the stitches in the stockinette section) and a pair of burning rings of fire socks started but the socks may end up in the pond. i can't face an entire sock of 2x2 ribbing. i'd rather knit black socks! yup!
so, are you working with a list or winging it?! curious minds want to know!
and please post your holiday (or not) projects separate from the 12m/12p/12boy ones so i can tell them apart. thanks.

i haz a PAIR!!!
September Project
Assortment of dish/washclothes in various patterns. Used up the cone of P&C, plus threw one more in for good measure. Used the same chopsticks for all, so I don't know why the one in the upper left corner is so curly. I'll try blocking it after laundry, but it can be folded in half and still make almost a full circle. Sigh. Guess I shouldn't frog it - it's just a dishcloth - but I will dig up the pattern again and see if there is some way I went wrong.

12/12/12 Carefree KAL
September project finished
I didn't get both projects finished but I did at least get 1 finished!
Started: 9-2-10
Pattern: Black Tie, Optional by Adrienne Fong
Yarn: Knit Picks 75/25 Superwash Bare
Finished: 9-28-10
This is the Sept/Oct mystery sock for Sock Knitters Anonymous on Ravelry. I knit the largest size minus the beads and I really, really love these. They came out a bit short but that is my fault. I am going to have to knit another pair in a less boring color and give the natural ones to my friend who loves girly things. Thanks Adrienne! :D

September 12M/12P/12BOY
WIP Picture
Completed Dress.
My september project is the Rainbow Dress by Georgie Hallam (tikki). It is so easy and customizable and super cute on my little girl (just need her to hold still for a pic with it on!) I used Red Heart Eco-ways yarn. The dress took a little more than 2.5 balls (about 480 yrds). I love the yarn used in the original dress, but since this is for a very active 2 yr old, I needed something durable and washable! Would be soooo cute in Mochi though.

September holiday or not KAL entry
Another pair of Macho socks by Prague Loop using Bendigo Luxury 8 ply Merino wool. I dyed these a darker color than the previous pair which I gave to our friend, Chris. Fred prefers this darker color. Dyed using Wilton's cornflower + a dash of ordinary blue food coloring splashed (with some water to dilute it a bit) over in the crock pot.
September Finished Projects
I've been knitting this month but finally found the time to post.
I finished the Anthemion Wrap that I've been working on for a while. I used 1159.2 yards of Jaggerspun Zepyr in Elderberry, and I love the way that it turned out.
I also finished the Skyp Rib Socks that I made for a friend's birthday. I used about 236.8 yards of Colinette Jitterbug in Magenta. I am posting the progress photo of the leg in addition to the final finished socks since I didn't have a chance to post the progress photo earlier.

September KAL
Well, we've gone from summer to late fall to monsoon season here in Minnesota. I'm glad to report the floodwaters are receding and the sandbags are going down. We're also down to only 3 roads being closed. Progress is good.
Here's the felted slippers and hat I made for my swimmer. She gets might cold on the bus after a meet. I did such a fantastic job, she now wants them in a more neutral color to wear to school. Just proves the old addage, the more you knit, the more you need to knit! These projects are becoming like gremlins.
I used 850 yards of elann something wool, doubled and 100 yards of whatever in the heck their eyelash yarn on sale was. Yep. Budget knitting is the key phrase anymore!!!
Happy Stitches Everyone!
