Prime Time October -- slippers

These slippers were the perfect car-passenger project: huge needles and yarn so I didn't have to look at it all the time, super-easy so it didn't require much thought, and destined to be felted so mistakes really didn't matter anyway. I did most of the knitting on the drive between Stuttgart and our new home in Belgium. And in Belgium, discovered only front-loading washers. Sad. So I waited until we went back to Stuttgart for our stuff, and finished them off in the top-loading American washer while we packed the moving van. They really still need a little more felting, but I'm not seeing any progress after several cycles in the front-loader. So I'm calling them done.

Holiday (or not) KAL

Holiday KAL 4
Finished my first pair of fancy lacy socks. I'm very proud of them!

I can't even tell you the kind of yarn I used, it was a hand painted skein from my local yarn shop, the pair took about 300 yards altogether, I have sort of long feet.

October KAL

I made this pillow for my daughter's desk chair.  She seems kind of ho-hum about it, but I think my choice of colors is much better than what was shown in the original picture.  It's from an Italian leaflet called "Aria di Primavera" published by Hachette.

I used approx. 450 meters of wool for this project.  This month's project seemed like it would never end.

Holiday KAL 4

This Christmas gift is an accent pillow, which I started 1 Oct 2011. The fern portion of the pattern is called Fern Pillow, by Rachel Braff. I designed the back side to resemble the 'spore' pattern found on the back of ferns.
Yarn is KnitPicks Palette.

Completed Seaside Shawlette

I completed my Seaside shawlette pattern by Wendy Gaal, on October 23rd, and finally gotten around to block it today, October 26th. I used approximately 330 yards, of a handpainted yarn by EweandUs.com, on size 4 needles. The shawlette was cast on October 4th. It turned out very lovely, and can't wait to give it to my co-worker, Shania, as a prayer shawl for her baby girl who is battling a very rare genetic heart disorder.

Triplicity Shawlette

I started the Triplicity Shawlette, pattern by Michelle Hunter on October 6th, using Mini Mochi color 311, with size 10 needles. I'm making it for myself, since I can't bear giving this away as a gift. It feels too nice give away.
