... while surfing patterns I accidentally ran into the Drops Garnstudio 0-515. Christmas ornaments :-) How cute!
I decided to sit down and knit one, in some yarn that was left over from previous projects; white Trekking and red Regia. Doubled to get the right effect... and it took me less than an hour to create.

anything goes kal
Cropped lace cardigan in yellow Bamboozle. Making it for my new LYS. Started about a week ago.
contest and happy summer!
Here is my project from my contest winnings. And entry for June and new contest. I used the Crystal Palace Cotton Chenille and made two face cloths. One for me and one for Katie. The pattern is off of Ravelry "Grandma's Favorite Dishcloth" and it is free. The larger one has 44 rows before the decrease and the smaller has 36. (I am guessing that if you want them to match in size aprox. 40 would work.)
Have a happy summer! Here is the kids at our favorite beach Haystack Rock (in Oregon) is in the background. Working on one more pair of socks for the June total!
XXOO, Jody
I have been knitting.
I have been knitting but much of it has been test knitting that I can not show for months. So here is the best I can do.
The starts to the blue yarn is a test knit, the redish yarn is a pair of winter house socks not yet finished.
The is the start to a baby hat, as is the next picture. Also another pair of booties requested by a family member, the pink cuffs on the booties does not show well.
My baby hats. Always wanted to make the strawberry hat. Was fun.
I had left over buttons from a quilt for a Kindergarten teacher so added them to the hat. Hidden are the yellow buttons and a red button on top. No pattern just winged it. Buddy loved the attention. These 2 hats are going to a charity auction.
The completed blue socks from above.
A bag I was able to test knit. I did not get a progress picture.
Brown socks I test knitted but did not take a progress picture. Well pattern is such that no other part of these socks could I show.Wow all these have been finished this month. I did not know how much I had done until I posted it. There is another pair of test knitted socks but the pattern is such that I can not show any part of them until Sept. Oh and there is a baby sweater that I have not blocked yet. So I guess I have been knitting even though I thought I had not.

Yarn project by Katie 52-week for Jody, June.
Here is my progress picture with my yarn winnings! It is the "what's it?" shall-scarf thingie on the CPY site. This is my last day of school. I got a perfect attendacnce award too. I want to go to the beach and have fun this summer. and I want to knit a hat for my coach in KOB (kidddz on the block.) Plus, I want toteach my friends how to knit. Bye,
Katie
Here is my progress for June too. I could not get Katie to smile. Probably because her shawl is on the worst needles EVER! We can not afford needles to replace them. Darin has been off work since December. But, we still have no credit card debt, (and only a small house payment.) Plus, I coupon like I knit, so I save a lot on groceries. Want to do a pair of Zebra stripes socks on another site. And I am saving up. We will see if I can afford it. The KAL starts in July (1st.) Gotta get Katie to school for her last day! Yeah, maybe sleep in tomorrow! And Nathan is in his Big-boy bed! Sorry for the chatter but I just love you guys! You are all like my knitting family. I try to explain to my hubby but he does not get it. He just shakes his head. Oh well, I gotta find some guy patterns for socks. But, I need to finally make a pair for me now, yeah.
Jody
Finished in June
I finally finished my black shawl. I still need to write the pattern. The yarn is Aussi sock, 2 1/2 skeins. Needles are US #6/4.0 mm. I delivered it to the yarn company at the trade show Sunday, only a couple of days late. Fancy photos will be taken later this week and inserted in the pattern.
I've been working on a pair of socks since early May, or not working, because of the shawl and sewing deadlines. This is how far I am now. They are for a May 19 birthday. He'll get them when they're finished. Yarn is Zitron Trekking Pro Natura in a denim color. Needles are Knit Picks Harmony US# 1.5/2.5 mm. The pattern is vintage, adapted to the target foot. I didn't knit 10 1/2" legs.

new socks in the works
The past weekend was WWKIP although I have heard that in the US WWKIP day has been moved to next weekend. It was nice enough to knit in the park, although I did not find the energy to do so. Stupid allergies! On Sunday it started to rain - YAY! Not good news for sun lovers, but the rain knocked down the pollen, and that is good for me.
I have been knitting though... socks. One of a pair is done, the other in the works. I also started another pair for Wietse; this time in Panda Superwash StoneWash. The same pattern as the previous ones, only a tiny little bit shorter. LOL!
Oh....I was in a swap with a sweet lady from Austria - we mailed out on the same day, but her package is still on its way to me. So I was a grumpy mom this weekend, telling my kids what I'd do if the postie would show up...:-S
I have been thinking of...
poking him with knitting needles
shout and be angry
throw pollen at him
or hit him with my tape measure
but I'd probably will thank him for delivering the package...

some new progress photos for 52 week KAL
I started some new projects with Panda Cotton for the 52 week KAL!
First, I began a Panda Cotton Drop Stitch Scarf in Seascape:
Loving the pattern, yarn and colorway!!! The pattern was easy to memorize so I could knit in the car. Yay!
And on Saturday, for WWKIP Day (World Wide Knit in Public Day), I cast on a new pair of socks in the Roses colorway (also beautiful):
I was also using the sock for a photo scavenger hunt and this was a photo of the sock at 100+ feet to earn points! ;-)

52 Week Challenge - MAZ
What is on my needles now: A pair of Palazzo in a tweedy yarn. Just to test the pattern written now in German. The original sock was knit up in 2006. What you see is the reverse side of the heel turn, made to last long and meet the challenge of my weight :-)
Before you ask: Yes, it is a conventional construction. From time to time I still do such things...
I love the yarn, it is so soft and I will dye some for my very first booth at a craft fair this weekend.
Here is a wollen yarn with long colourruns in natural shades of grey. My Winter shawl/stole to match my grey coat.
It will be shaped like some of the Scandinavian shawls you can sling around endlessly.
