July Finish

Alright guys, here we go!  Besides all the tiny stuff I made that I'm not counting because it's a pain to take in progress pictures, I did two hats and a toy this month. And I'm still working on the shawl for the wip thing too. I forget when that ends, though.

I modified this pattern a bit at the end. The link to my Ravelry project has the mods for now. Eventually I'll stick it in my own blog. I'm also crocheting a bunch of flowers for her to pin on to it.

This may be my new favorite sock pattern. It is Skyp Socks knit in Regia Galax. They took almost the entire 2 balls of yarn, about 450 yards.

I am posting photos of the completed socks and the detail.

Progress report

Ravelry SKA Mystery sock
The final clue came out this morning. Sock #1 is finished. Knitting goes faster when the clues come out on my day off from work. The yarn for clue #4 is Dream in Color Starry. The sock is by Chrissy Gardiner.

Swiss Cheese Scarf
This is a knitting guild KAL. I have marked the middle and the scarf is 65% complete. Yarn is a mystery cone yarn, which appears to be a cotton/rayon mix.

12m/12p/12boy -July 2010 Project #2 -Completed- Brenda (Owlsrook)

Second July Project Completed - Shawl for my Grand Daughter Meaghan - I used Knit Pick's Stroll - Sock Weight - Color is Summer Blooms Tonal. I have about 2 yards left over from a 462 yard skein - so estimate is 460 yards for this one.
I am now on to making a third shawl for my Daughter Melanie - this 3rd one will be in Knit Picks Stroll again - but Purple - Color is Royalty Tonal.

I have now have five of these to make by request for my Daughters and Grand Daughters, but they are enjoyable knit and go pretty fast.

dog days update

Picture time! Two pictures of my sock yarn blanket. It has really been progressing, but I have to put it down for a while. One simple reason to name for it: I am out of sock yarn scraps! I measured 17 1/2 inch after knitting the orange stripe on July 11. Now it is almost 50 inch in length. 30 inch still to go.

The image of the gate: Brugues in Belgium.
And of course: a tram! This time in Düsseldorf, Germany

Dog Days hat!

Hi, I finished the hat last night. It is the Patchwork Hat by Faina Goberstein. Now, to search for more wip's. (Dang, Cool Beans is talking to me.) I need some coffee! But, I think I am going to work on the Vegas sock first. the gussets are never ending........

12/12/12 boy for july

Hi again. Here is my project for July early! I love these socks. They are my favorite color too. The pattern is Meandering Vines pattern in a gifted sock yarn. I used one size smaller needles though. It also is the first pattern I could memorize! Off to think about August and finish my wip hat! I am thinking of making one of Adrienne's patterns. Any ideas? I do not know toe-up though.

Dog Days hat!

Dog days are here! I am working on a hat for my friend. Just fighting the decrease of the pattern. The pattern is Patchwork Hat by Faina Goberstein from the knitscene Winter 2008/Spring 09 magazine. I just had the basketweave above the ribbing done so, (about 1/4 before I started it again.)

Finished minus the button. Looking for the perfect one, of course.

This is the Garter Ridge Hoodie from Petite Purls by Erika Flory. I modified it to make it seamless and despite the poor pictures of the FO, I LOVE it!!! I splurged and used Mission Falls Cotton which was perfect for it. I used 7.5 balls so nearly 640 yrds and alot of ends to weave in! (But at least I didn't have to seam anything!)

12m/12p/12boy -July 2010 Project #2 -In Progress - Brenda (Owlsrook)

- Started on July 8th, this is my second July project in progress photo. This is another triangle shawl for my Grand daughter Meaghan, this one is in Knit Picks Tonel sock yarn - Colour is "Summer Bloom". The skein is 462 yards, and I would estimate that I have about used about 458 yards. I have now finished the shawl, but still have to block it, so will post a completed photo when that is done.

I have 3 more of these to do for my Daughters and Grand Daughters, so maybe I will get another one done before the end of July, if all goes to plan.

July sock progress

My Ravelry SKA Mystery sock has clue #3 finished. The pattern is by Chrissy Gardiner.

I have started another color work sock for SKA. It's Fiesta Feet by Lucy Neatby. I've wanted to knit it for a long time, bought the yarn and used the light colored yarn for something else. I used the navy because it is the same yarn, so the weight is the same as the paintbox color.

My Swiss Cheese scarf is 1/2 done, but no photo. I got lots of comments yesterday at a party. People noticed the holes and wondered what in the world I was knitting.

Dog Days Progress

I'm making progress on the lace edging for my jacket. Yarn is dishcloth cotton. I may have to shorten the sleeves, but will wash and dry it first.

When is this kal supposed to end?

New July Starts

I've started 2 new projects. The first is a shawl, Anthemion, which I am knitting with Jaggerspun Zephyr in Elderberry. The second is another baby afghan in the Chalice pattern. This is the second time I have knit this pattern, and I really love it. It is easy and relaxing, but interesting. I am using Plymouth Encore Colorspun in a yummy white/yellow/blue variegated. I'm still finishing a pair of socks also, so it's a busy summer!
