12/12/12 Carefree KAL - December

Wow, I'm feeling good! I finished the year with a few hours to spare. Annetrelac pattern by Sandy Beadle from Interweave Knits Holiday Gifts 2007 (also available through Ravelry). I used Trekking XXL in colorway 108. I saw this yarn with this pattern in Ravelry and since it was in my stash I knew it was a must. I love the way they turned out. Used size 1 dpn.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!!

12/12/12 Carefree KAL - November

Finished my projects for this month. I used the Margarita Summer sock pattern by Denise Henderly from the 50 Socks - 50 States CD, Shibui yarn in the Pagoda colorway with CPY Kid Merino in Fall Herbs for reinforcement and size 2 square dpn. Also moved this month! The pattern was really fun but I wish the top didn't turn down...errrr. Hopefully that won't be an issue when I am wearing them.

I also knit a scarf using Crystal Palace Choo Choo yarn in Rose and Charcoal. Hope it is OK I am posting both the wip and finished picture - it was an afterthought project in case the sock yardage was on the short side.

This is my project for the month of November. We moved this month and I am a little buried and even tho' I should be unpacking, I will finish these by the end of the month. Power of positive thinking! Just finished the decrease on on the gusset on both socks so I'm doing ok. I am using the Margarita Summer pattern by Denise Henderly from 50 Socks - 50 States and Shibui yarn with size 2 square needles.

I am making this shawl for a friend who just lost her mother. The yarn is Red Heart (not my favorite - ahhhh I have become a yarn snob!!!) but good for throwing in the washer and dryer. I am using a large crochet hook - size K. I have used the tan, pale sage and aspen colors.

August 2010 12/12/12 KAL

Well, this was a busy knitting month for me... but I really screwed up because I made two scarves that I did not take progress pics of. But the things that do count are the socks for my granddaughter. My gosh she has long feet! She is 5 1/2 years old and the socks are 8 1/4 inches long! The pattern called for 175 yardage for a 7 inch foot so I am safe there. Used the Sirdar Snuggly Magic yarn and size 3 dpn. Then I made two scarves out of the Feather Yarn by Caron. Each scarf had 70 yards plus the little bits of added glitz. I added gold fun fur to the burgundy one and Crystal Palace Fizz to the blue one. I used large needles - size 13. So I am good on the yardage. I will add the finished pics of the two scarves that don't count. The black is fun fur and the gold yarn is Crackle with gold fun fur. I also added 4 1/2 inches to my grandsons sweater from a year ago. Wow... busy for me. Happy Knitting to all of you. Renee' aka yoyosocksister.

WIP for August 12m/12p/12boy

Gosh, it hit me today that I never posted my wip pics so here goes. I finished a sweater for my granddaughter in the dog days of summer kal and so I started a pair of socks to go with the sweater. Size 3 dpn and the Sirdar Snuggly Magic yarn. I am also working on scarves for a group of ladies that our Church gives gifts to at Christmas. Both scarves are knit with Caron Feathers yarn and I am adding Fun Fur to one and Crystal Palace Fizz to the other.

July 2010 Carefree 12/12/12 KAL

Well, I finished with a little time to spare - a moment of panic when the camera didn't want to cooperate! My socks this month are made with Crystal Palace Panda Soy yarn in the Provence colorway. I used the Sultry Lace Sock pattern by Debbie Haymark from the 50 Socks -50 States CD. The needles I used were size 1 square dpn. I had to redo the pattern a little by removing several repeats (my first sock screw-up turned into a little drawstring bag). The beads add a little bling to the top of the socks. Now I am on to the finishing touches on the Dog Days KAL...

12m/12p/12boy July WIP

For July I am making these socks - Sultry Lace (Mississippi) by Debbie Haymark from 50 Socks - 50 States with Crystal Palace Panda Soy in Provence. The yarn is wonderful to work with! I'm having a bit of a problem with the fit (the only needle I had in a short circular was a 1 so I thought I'd give it a try - wrong!). The pattern is fun (thank goodness!!! ) I am now working on the second sock and I changed to square dpn in a 1 but they are tighter and I removed two repeats. I think they will be pretty when they are done. If I have enough yarn I won't rip the first one but turn it into a phone bag....we shall see if I need the yarn.

With Days to Spare

Finished my socks and it is only the 27th of the month!!! Used size 2 dpn and the pattern from the 50 Socks - 50 States CD - Treasure Lace (Montana) by Denise Henderly. The yarn was Simply Socks Hand Dyed Solid Sock Yarn in Magenta and Rose. Really enjoyed the pattern and the yarn. Think the stripes turned out pretty cute and I also like the reversed colors. Next project is another pattern from the CD and a UFO. Happy Knitting to all...Renee' aka yoyosocksister

June WIP

I used the Treasure Lace sock pattern (Montana) by Denise Henderly from the 50 Socks - 50 States CD. I am knitting them with Simply Socks Yarn Company's solid shades Magenta and Rose. I was hoping to knit these for the 50/50 KAL but then I switched projects when I knew I wouldn't have time to finish them. Heck, I am not a fast knitter and I didn't start them till May 15th so I don't know how I thought I could finish them. I knit these with square size 2 dpn. I think they will be fun as the second sock has reverse coloring! Nice pattern and yarn!!!

May Projects Finished

The scarf was knit with Echo ribbon and size 10 needles. I made it as a thank you for a friend. The baby socks are size 3 needles and Sirdar Magic yarn - made for a baby shower in June. I made this little entrelac bag with size 6 needles and Ironstone yarn. Lots of little stuff. Next month I'm working on socks! You are all so wonderful and what you accomplish in a month is truly amazing! Thanks! Happy Knitting to All... Renee' aka yoyosocksister.

One More WIP

I think my yardage is a hair short for this month so I'm also going to knit a quick entrelac bag. Using size 6 dpn and Ironstone yarn in color 003.

May WIP

Wow.... sounds like a lot of us are in the same boat. I started the month with some entrelac socks and then decided I wanted to make the Montana socks from the 50/50 CD.... then I decided I wouldn't be able to finish them in time.... in the meantime, I started a scarf for a friend this month as a thank you and decided to concentrate on the scarf. But the yardage is a little short so I am also making some baby socks for a shower I'm going to in June.
The scarf is knitted with Echo ribbon and size 10 needles. The baby socks are Sirdar Snuggly Magic yarn and size 3 needles. I've got lots of knitting to do and I've already told my husband I'm taking the weekend off...no housework. Just knitting! :)

Finished Shawl for April

I finished my shawl with several days to spare! Used almost three skeins of Fluffy yarn by Unger (at 156 yards each) and large (size 11) needles. I added a little crocheted loop at the bottom to give it a little zip. Simple but I think the friend I made it for will like it...

WIP for April

This is a blast from the past! I pulled some yarn out of my stash that was given to me years ago and I am making a shawl for a special lady through our prayer shawl group at church. The yarn is Fluffy by Unger and I am using a size 11 circular needle. The pattern is the same as a washcloth I made years ago. I love it because it is a no-brainer and sometimes we all need that! hahaha.... I may crochet around the edge when I am done - but I will wait to decide.

Muir Woods Socks for March - Finished!

These socks are going to be for my mom for her birthday and I think she will love them. The pattern is Muir Woods by Kala Hotakainen from the 50 Socks - 50 States CD. It was great fun and well written. I used Fleece Artist Sea Wool (which has a pretty sheen to it) in the Bronze colorway. I also used square size 2 dpn. Great feeling to finish a pair of socks...now on to my next..... smile! Oh gosh, don't you just love planning and starting new projects!
Happy Knitting to all.... Renee' aka yoyosocksister
