A late cast-on

I've cast on for yet another pair of socks:I'm using Briggs & Little Tuffy again (this time in 'Cocoa') and improvising a pattern with twisted-stitch braided cables. I hope I'll be able to get a picture in natural light once they're done, and I hope this will do for a cast-on post.

Finished my Thujas

A second pair of finished socks:

Thuja (Bobby Zeigler) in Briggs & Little Tuffy 'Blue Mix,' 4 mm dpns.

Not the most interesting knit, but my Thujas made of Tuffy have lasted for about two years now so these will, I hope, stand up to my dad wearing them to work.

Another project started

Here's the start of some socks I'm knitting for my dad:

The pattern is Thuja by Bobby Ziegler. I'm using Briggs & Little Tuffy in Blue Mix and 4mm dpns. It's going quickly; I cast on about a week ago but have been working on other projects as well.

My first finished project.

Here's my first finished pair of socks for the KAL:
Wanida socks (Cookie A.) in Socks That Rock Lightweight 'Spinel,' 2mm dpns.

I liked the pattern and the yarn, and they could have been finished a lot more quickly had I not been distracted by other projects.

Of course, I managed to start another pair of socks...

... before finishing any of the projects I posted about earlier. I'm finished the first sock now, but was waiting to confirm permission before posting a picture:
This was a test knit for Hunter Hammersen. It was called Flummery when I first got the pattern, but I believe she'll be changing the name when the pattern is released. I used
Karen's Heavenly Creations Ultra Superwash Merino Fingering in Blue Violets and 2.5mm dpns.

Current UFOs for the Holiday KAL

I'm starting off this KAL with four projects on the needles that are less than 50% complete. They are:

1) Wanida socks (Cookie A.) in Socks That Rock Lightweight 'Spinel,' 2mm dpns.

2) Mystery Sock '09 (Kirsten Kapur) in Yarn Pirate Merino/Tencel 'Butternut,' 2.5 mm dpns.
3) Baroque (Janice Kang) in Malabrigo Sock 'Violeta Africana,' 2.5mm dpns.
4) Branching Out (Susan Lawrence) in Knit Picks Alpaca Cloud 'Sand,' 3.25mm straights.
The first two were started this month, but the second two have been UFOs since early in the summer so I'm hoping a KAL will motivate me to finish them. I'm not holding my breath, though; I'll inevitably cast on for other things as well.

I apologize for the quality of my photos. I'm doing my best to take them in good light, but I'm using a cheap drugstore/children's digital camera so they still don't tend to turn out very well.
