That's it for me

I'll still be doing some gift knitting, but I'm pretty sure I'm not going to finish any by the end of the KAL. So these are the last for me:

Darkside Cowl (Ravelry link)
Malabrigo Silky Merino in Arlene's Purples - approximately 96 yds
size 8 KP Harmony circs

Cafe Au Lait mitts (Ravelry link)
Lana Grossa Numero Uno - approximately 132 yds
size 4 KP Harmony circs

Blue Moon Fiber Arts Funky Monkey kit - the mini version
Socks that Rock heavyweight in Typhoon Tina & Harlotty - approx 87.5 yds
size 5 KP Harmony circs

Hope everyone in the US has a happy Thanksgiving Day.

Just in case...

I don't finish the Ruffled Roses scarf by the end of the KAL (or I decide to keep it), I started the Darkside Cowl (Ravelry link) for a friend of mine in Malabrigo Silky Merino in Arlene's Purples:

and a pair of Cafe Au Lait Mitts (also a Rav link) in some stashed Lana Grossa Numero Uno for a co-worker:

I've also got a couple skeins of Crystal Palace Merino 5 (a nice workhorse superwash yarn that I think is underrated) in pink that I'll probably knit into a baby hat & booties set. I just haven't decided what pattern to use.

Progress & an FO

I knit a cowl for my daughter and I didn't post progress pictures. So this post is going to have the progress and finished photo of the cowl. Hopefully that is OK. I also have a progress shot of a double knit hat I'm making for her.

First up is the progress shot of the cowl.

Here's a shot of the finished cowl.

The cowl fits great and my daughter loves it. I used the Darkside Cowl (Ravelry link). The yarn is Plymouth Galway Paint and the yardage used is 126 yards. The only mod I made was to take out one pattern repeat to make it a little smaller. The cowl is about 8 inches tall.

Here's a progress shot of the hat.

I'm using Doubleknitski using Plymouth Galway Paint and The Unique Sheep Foot Prints. I wasn't sure how well the two yarns would work together for this hat since the Foot Prints sock yarn is only sports weight but surprisingly enough it's working very well. I wanted a softer yarn for the inside of the hat.

One done...another cast on!

Easy projects = quick knits! But I am amazed at all the lovely finer knitting being completed and posted by otheres! So here are my humble offerings: a completed "Seaweed Cowl"-I made it a tad bigger and will be adding a button to it. Obviously, my gauge got a bit loose 1/2 way through, but I made up for it on the other half, so at least it kinda evened out! So weighing in at 72g., and this yarn running 216 yds/100g, I think I can safely say this is a 140 yd project.

And a baby hat is started but-doh!-it is knit with a 16 stitch repeat, NOT 8...so now, as I start the cables, I am realizing it either gets frogged or a new 'design element' will occur. I will choose the latter, cuz I'm not digging the idea of frogging it!
