It's all About Me again
In late February, I blogged about a shawl knit from the Panda Silk DK, thatI received as a 12/12/12 prize. I was turning it into a shawlette. There was not enough yarn to complete the pattern as written, so I left off one lace repeat and edged it with garter stitch. That worked very well.Started Feb. 22 and finished Feb. 27
Knit on US#7 needles
Pattern: free from CPY Panda Silk DK Shawlette with Lace Pattern

Yardage: 240 yards
Closed with a china rose pin from my ancient history. That keeps it on my shoulders at work.
And again
for me, a pair of mitts that I'm calling Odd Fellows. I had said that there was no repeat in the yarn colors. I was wrong! There is no usable repeat in this ball of Mini Mochi.Yardage 190 yards used (one color leftover)
Started March 6 and finished March 8
Knit on US #2/2.75 mm needles
My own design, which needs some tweaking before publication.
Now I'm getting back to the socks I planned for my March project.

Knitting for me again
I have knit up my 12/12/12boy prize. I used the CPY pattern called Panda Silk DK Shawlette with Lace Pattern. Again I ran out of yarn. I finished one pattern repeat short and used garter stitch for the edge. It is not blocked yet. 240 yards is not quite enough to qualify for a prize, so we'll see if I finish anything else for myself.

Goddess Knits Mystery Shawl #13 + The Enchanted Sole
Hello, everyone!
I am a new member of this blog and I was asked to put up some pretties for everyone to ogle. So today I bring you my current WIP - the Goddess Knits Mystery Shawl #13. There are two clues out so far, and I finished the second one last night and took a few pictures - one of all of the shawl so far, and one a bit more close up.
I have to be sure to take a picture of the shawl on something super light or else the haze of my yarn - which is KnitPicks Shadow Juniper Heather - makes it hard to see the details properly. I love the zigzag pattern that is turning up!
Here's a close up so you can see the beaded pattern a bit better. The beads are Dyna-Mite brand size 6 - silver-lined, square hole, with a rainbow sheen on them. So they turn up all sorts of slightly different hues, even though their base is a nice dark green that matches the yarn pretty well. I got them at Fire Mountain Gems.
The orange lifeline, of course, is marking where clue one ends, though it's 2 rows off into clue 2 because I had forgotten to add it.
As for why I included The Enchanted Sole in my title - the author of this awesome-looking sock book has been hosting a contest in her blog. You just comment on her entries and every day she picks one person who commented to win one of the patterns from the book. I won Mermaid a few days ago, so I am super excited!

52 week kal maz
The unblocked texture appeals to me and I am not sure if I should block it or wear it as it is a winter shawl on top of my grey coat. About 1100m.

Finished in June
I finally finished my black shawl. I still need to write the pattern. The yarn is Aussi sock, 2 1/2 skeins. Needles are US #6/4.0 mm. I delivered it to the yarn company at the trade show Sunday, only a couple of days late. Fancy photos will be taken later this week and inserted in the pattern.
I've been working on a pair of socks since early May, or not working, because of the shawl and sewing deadlines. This is how far I am now. They are for a May 19 birthday. He'll get them when they're finished. Yarn is Zitron Trekking Pro Natura in a denim color. Needles are Knit Picks Harmony US# 1.5/2.5 mm. The pattern is vintage, adapted to the target foot. I didn't knit 10 1/2" legs.

52 Week Challenge - MAZ
What is on my needles now: A pair of Palazzo in a tweedy yarn. Just to test the pattern written now in German. The original sock was knit up in 2006. What you see is the reverse side of the heel turn, made to last long and meet the challenge of my weight :-)
Before you ask: Yes, it is a conventional construction. From time to time I still do such things...
I love the yarn, it is so soft and I will dye some for my very first booth at a craft fair this weekend.
Here is a wollen yarn with long colourruns in natural shades of grey. My Winter shawl/stole to match my grey coat.
It will be shaped like some of the Scandinavian shawls you can sling around endlessly.
