looks like some of you are already winners having finished much of your holiday knitting. i, unfortunately, do not fall in that category and am still working away on my holiday knits. sigh!
our generous sponsor, susan of crystal palace yarns, has decided to send a prize to everyone who posted a completed project. but wait, there is a deal! we are hosting a rodekool brioche scarf KAL on our sister group over on ravelry. if you choose "door #1" and promise to join the kal, susan will send you a skein of mini mochi or 2 skeins of panda silk for the project. if you choose "door #2," susan will send you 2 balls of sock yarn.
so, angie, bianca, brenda, debi, jardin rouge, jill, jody, kadezmom, lorraine, peacockmom, and yoyosocksister, email me at carefreekal at gmail dot com with your mailing address and whether you want "door #1" or "door #2." if you select "door #1," please let me know whether you want mini mochi (with 3 color choices) or the panda silk (with 3 color combinations). if you select "door #2," please let me know if you want a wool blend or a non-wool blend.
congratulations to all!

What a lovely way to begin the morning here! Many thanks for the prize, hosting the KAL and continued inspiration and companionship (particularly appreciated since I live in an isolated area). I signed up for the brioche scarf KAL and if OK, will skein the 2 balls of cream Panda silk I have and dye them asap so I can cast on with the group. Oh how I wish I had a LYS and could get some already to go! Life here in the forest...Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you and a Happy Birthday to our beloved Adrienne on Christmas Eve. xoxo Tunie
PS. I do promise to knit a second one whenever the next 2 balls of yarn arrive most likely in February. :)
I love the scarf, but I'm not sure I'll knit it now. Too many other projects in the pipeline. I'll take door #2.
Thank you for hosting Adriƫnne, and Susan for her generosity. :-)
I am opting for door #2 as well (have no preference for wool or non-wool blend)
OOOOPS! I thought I had lost the comment I tried to post and that it was actually an omen and meant to be. I fear the brioche scarf it too tricky for me and I realized I won't have time to skein, dye and dry the yarn in time in any event. So I'm retracting that part and will enjoy seeing your progress on the sidelines.
However, this gives me another opportunity to thank Susan, Dr. Laura and Adrienne for all the hard work you do to make this KAL possible. I certainly do appreciate it and have enjoyed getting to know so many talented knitters around the world.
Happy knitting to all of you and best wishes for a wonderful new year.
The scarf is beautiful but it looks extra extraspicy so I'll choose Door #2 at this time. Wool blend is fine and thank you so much. Adrienne you do such a wonderful job! Thanks to Susan and Dr. Laura also.
You are so generous. This makes me wish I had gotten to the computer and posted that beanie in time... well, and also made some holiday mitts for a friend.
I love the Rodekool Brioche Scarf and was already thinking of making it for my sister. Is MiniMochi a requirement for the KAL?
I am so tickled that I won some lovely yarn, especially as my stash has become seriously drained over the past few months! I would like Door #2 in a wool blend, please!
And I would like to send along a big Thank You to Susan for offering up these goodies, and to Adrienne and Dr. Laura for all their dedicated efforts to ensure that our knitting needles are never idle!!
Thank you!
Happy Holidays to all!!
Wow..how extremely generous. I have never knitted anything in Brioche stitch, so I am definately going to go for Door #1, and challenge myself.
Thank you to Susan, Adrienne, Laura, and the other wonderful folks who work so hard to make this the best group.

hi kate!
no, you are not required to use mini mochi for the kal. you may use any yarn you wish.
please join us!
Door #1 email on the way! Thanks so much!
Wow! What a wonderful Christmas surprise. The scarf is beautiful, but I think I will have to opt for Door #2 as well. I don't think I can commit to a KAL just yet (especially as I am still committing to the year long KAL here!) I am craving some sock knitting right now. I've done too many sweaters lately. I would love to try the non-wool sock yarn. Email on it's way. Thanks again!!!!
