Prime Time February

There is some more new yarn!!!!
A soft envelope came and two wonderfully soft Pandas found their new home.
Thank You, Susan!

This is the Baby cardigan finished.

Someday there will be buttons too, but the colour is difficult to find.

Meanwhile the camera has changed, but the photographer didn´t. The camera is good now and the photographer will adapt to the options given come time.

Prime Time 2011 - Feb

Definitely a progress pic, before it´s too late :-).
This is my February project, a baby cardigan in a very smooth merino extrafine. 600 yards so far. Colours are completely different from what is shown: a very very dark teal and a more dark than medium turquoise.
Maybe the sun will be shining when the project is finished and colours will be true then.

More September Progress

The baby kimono is finished. I still don't have enough yardage to count for the month. The pattern is from Mason-Dixon Knitting. The yarn is dishcloth cotton left from my jacket with the lace edges.

The brown socks are almost finished. The toes will be beige. At least both will start the beige at about the same place. That project will count for the month when I finish it and show photos. The pattern is a Ram club selection from last year, by Janine Le Cras. The yarn is Hazel Knits Artisan sock, and with 400 yds, it still didn't cover DH's legs and feet.

Then there is the Mystery Sock from the SKA group, designed by Adrienne Fong. We have 3 clues so far and I'm knitting from a 100 gm ball, so I'm only using one end of the ball.

In a moment of craziness, I started another SKA sock. The theme this month is black and/or white. My black socks will go to a granddaughter for her birthday. The second sock is about 1/2 way down the leg, but it is at work, where the light is better. The yarn is Bernat Sox, an acrylic sock yarn. The pattern is Simplicity by Janel Laidman.

The gray sweater grows slowly. I haven't worked on it much. I'll show another picture when I get to the armpits.

Yarn arrived in the mail this week, a prize from the Dog Days thread. I finished a sweater which I may not have showed on this thread. It took about a year of intermittent work. The body is three color seed stitch and the edges are a garter stitch lace. The prize yarn is Panda Cotton in grapes & blueberries color. Thank you so much for the yarn. I'll have to stop collecting CPY yarn and start knitting with it.

September knitting

I finished one small thing, so small there is no in progress photo. I'll show it again with something else, so it will count then. The basic pattern is Ann Norling's Fruit Hat pattern, with a flower from Nicky Epstien's Embellishment book. Yardage is under 100 yds in worsted weight yarn.

A slow progress project is my Baby Kimono from Mason Dixon Knitting. It's slow, because I only work on it when I watch TV and want mindless knitting. Easy Stockinette fills the bill. The yarn is dishcloth cotton left over from a jacket I made.

There are socks on the needles. The Ravelry SKA Mystery sock by Adrianne Fong. Is at sock #1, Clue #1. I plan to keep these.

Ravelry Solid socks is having a brown month. I have a Ram Club pattern. The given yarn would not have been enough for a man's sock, so substitution has been made. This yardage will fit DH's feet, even if I have to make the last toe with something else. Current yarn is Hazel Knits Artisan Sock. The pattern really pops.

The SKA group also has a color of the month, black, or white, or black/white. I have black yarn, Bernat Sox in Jet Hot. Pattern is from Sock Innovation by Cookie A. Glynis is what was chosen. These will go to a granddaughter.

Another Baby Sweater

I had some put away, but this year, all the babies are girls. I needed another sweater. I will need still one more to put away for another time, but not just yet.

This is a Tomten Jacket, by Elizabeth Zimmermann. I used a cone yarn for the base yarn and odd balls to carry along. It has fuzz! It has glitz! It's washable!

Yes I knit more socks!

A finished pair of socks for my husband.

The yarn and pattern were part of The Ram Club from The Unique Sheep. The yarn has 4 gradations of color. DH has size 12 feet and there was not enough yarn. The pattern has a number of problems, starting with the transition from ribbing to pattern.

Started on May 1, 2010, I finished them June 10. I am not loving the yarn or the designer.

Baby sweater
I had sweaters for 2 little girls put away. This spring, 2 neighbors and a friend are having/have had girls. I need to give this before July 1, when the Mom leaves town. The pattern is Elizabeth Zimmermann's Tomten Jacket. I'm using cone yarn and a few odd balls. Size 6/4.0 mm needles.

I got a thrill out of grafting the hood in garter stitch. The intructions and diagram were in Knitting Workshop.
