December Prime Time

Here's my December project! It's called Billion Dollar Hat and is from the book Punk Knits. I used 3.5 skeins of Paton's Classic Wool held double, which comes out to 365 yards (735 total yardage, but only one "strand" counts). Made this with two size 10 circulars at the beginning and switched it all over to one circular as I was doing the brim.

WIP - I think I'm about halfway down the hat here

Unfelted!  I'm like The Scarecrow. =D

Finished!

November Prime Time

Oh mess. I totally forgot to post last night even though I meant to! I hope I'm not too late.

This is my Aeolian shawl, which took 400+ yards of Handmaiden Sea silk. Almost the entire skein, really. I knit it on size 5 needles. Here's some links where you can see more stuffs:

October Prime Time

I FINALLY got a finished picture of my intended October project, so here you go!

This is a citron done in Wolle’s Yarn Creations Color Changing Cotton, which is about 490 yards. I didn't have much left when I finished it. :) I believe the colorway for this was Mellow II. Size 6 knitpicks options.

September Prime Time

Gonna use this here afghan that I finished for this month because I haven't sewn my veil to the comb yet, so I don't have any nice drapey pictures to show it off yet.

The pattern is the Washed Ashore Afghan by Lion Brand. I ran out of yarn before I could finish the pattern, but it's still at least 1200 yards of crochet, if not more, so it qualifies! I used an M/N hook. I have gifted it to a coworker for use in his man-cave at home.

The yarn is some discontinued imported yarn called Unger Le Tweed and claims to be hand-wash only, but I washed it on low spin cycle in cold water, and then tumble-dried low for a bit, and it came out fine. It's mostly acrylic and synthetic type yarns, so I figured as long as I didn't let it get too hot it'd be alright.

This August I finally finished my Strangling Vines Scarf. It took a bit over 400 yards of Handmaiden Sea Silk and was knit on size 4 knitpicks needles. It blocked out to almost 8 feet long! I put more info about it on my own blog. :)

Prime Time July Finish

Oh mess, I almost forgot to post here this month!

Here is my Chianti shawl, which used 410 yards of Handmaiden Sea Silk on size 6 needles. I forget the exact type but I know they were Knitpicks needles.

You can see more pictures at my blog.

June Prime Time

I'm lazy. I finished this on June 10 (perhaps before that), and I'm only posting it here now even though it's in my other blog already. =D

This is the Summer Mystery Shawlette by Wendy D. Johnson and it is the first mystery shawl that I ever finished right on schedule! It was knit on size 5 needles with Knit Picks Palette in Tidepool Heather and it came out to just over 300 yards (about 304 yards) for a qualifying knit for this KAL. :)

Here is a picture of the shawl just after clue #2.

Prime Time May Finish

I finished this in the beginning of May, but I was lazy and didn't post it here.

It's a Mario 3 Piranha Plant Scarf. It's crocheted in Caron Simply Soft with an I hook, and used between 550-600 yards of yarn. I wrote out the pattern for it, so you can check that out too:

Purely Delightful Prime Time April Finish

My April finish is the Purely Delightful Baby Blanket by Rebecca Leigh. It used 1024 yards of Bernat Baby Sport Solid, crocheted with an I hook. Much bigger than I expected it to be! I went up two hook sizes since I usually crochet tightly and my other blankets were about 700 yards, and I only had a wee bit of yarn left over.

My apologies for a blurry picture. I suck.

March Prime Time Finish

Behold: The Baby Blanket of Rassilon!

800+ yards of Bernat Baby Sport with a G hook. When the filet crochet part didn't come out very large, I yoinked edging from another baby blanket in one of my books and tacked it on at the end.

February Finish!

Finished my project for February - Star Athena's Chirality socks! These took about 350 yards of KnitPicks Risata and were made on a size 1 circular. It's difficult to manage 4 balls of yarn doing 2 at a time magic loop, but I managed it. =D

I made a few modifications to the pattern so it'd be tiled instead of having bands of color in between each design segment.

Prime Time - January

Crocheted a blanket called Morning Glory by Rebecca Leigh. It's in a little book of circular baby afghans that I picked up for the cheaps. I did another one of these last year for the 12/12/12 KAL, using the same yarn (Bernat Baby Sport). This one used a bit more yarn than the last one, coming in at just under 750 yards, with a size I hook. I still have yarn left from both blankets so I guess I'll have to make a third one. Smaller, though. I think I only have like 450 yards left.
