Finally finished! I lost sock #1. It may still appear, but in the mean time, I bought 2 more balls of yarn so that I could have enough left over for another pair.

Bind Off: May 12, 2011
Yarn: Crystal Palace Panda Silk in Forest Tones
Needles: 2.25mm/US #1

KWTP - socks

Panda Silk - Knotty or Knice socks
Sock #1 is still missing! Photo shows socks #2 & #3. I now have yarn to finish #3, with enough left over to knit another pair (in another pattern). It's lucky that I love the yarn.

Moonchild again
My first pair shrunk in the wash. CPY replaced the yarn. It's time to replace the socks. Beads are 8/0 AB clear.
Cast On: May 2, 2011
Yarn: CPY Panda Superwash

KWTP Green socks

The yarn is Panda Silk in Forest Tones, a little darker than the picture. I bought it last year at a Guild Yarn Crawl. When I buy yarn, I try to get something I haven't used before.

The pattern is Knotty or Knice Socks by Chrissy Gardiner, published in Interweave Knits.

Needles are 2.25mm Crystal Palace bamboos. The sock was started April 12, 2011. The fabric is luscious! I'm keeping these!

Knitting for me again

I have knit up my 12/12/12boy prize. I used the CPY pattern called Panda Silk DK Shawlette with Lace Pattern. Again I ran out of yarn. I finished one pattern repeat short and used garter stitch for the edge. It is not blocked yet. 240 yards is not quite enough to qualify for a prize, so we'll see if I finish anything else for myself.

First Cast On!

I have no idea how people are finishing things so fast this month! I guess I feel slower because I'm doing a mystery sock and I am hoping and praying I can get them done before January is over because they are my only January project. All of my other projects I'm doing this month were started in December (and earlier, tee hee).

Pattern: SKA January 2010 Mystery Sock by Debbi O'Neill
Yarn: Crystal Palace Yarns Panda Silk in Butterscotch
Cast On: January 1 (I just got the pictures ULed today XD)
Needles: 1 40 inch size 0 Addi Turbo circular

I am LOVING this yarn so far and I can't wait until I can cover my feet in it!  I've never used a size 0 before, but so far my sock seems to fit fine. I'm doing the medium because I knit looser than most and it's coming out as I would have expected the large to come out, which is good.

I got the beads at Bead Wrangler. They are, I believe, the size 8/0 Smoke Topaz Rainbow Matte.

I have no scale to track how much yarn I've used, so most of my projects will be socks. I thought I saw something on here for sock rules for the previous KAL. at least a 4 inch leg, and fitting a woman's medium, right? My foot is 9.5 inches long so that isn't a problem! =D

SKAJAN10

Here's mine.
Panda Silk in mint cream solid for cuff [and of course planned for heel & toe]
Mini-Mochi for sock body - Tropical Ginger. (one of my faves)

it's further along now, and i'm into that lovely mauve band you can barely see starting on the needles.

it's a new design i'm calling either 'play it again Sam', or more simply 'ZZig'.

ufo KAL

here is a picture of my first "pair" of socks!

the one on the left is elann's sock it to me in a pattern that i have in my head
the one on the right is also a pattern that i have in my head which is suppose to be transformed into a "real" pattern for crystal palace yarns

and LOOK! i am making another "PAIR" just like the first! :oD

the sock on the left is for my bil's christmas present. he's finally decided that he has enough blue socks so i can use a different color now. and, yes, i gave him one finished sock and a ball of yarn. he said he liked his "knit your own sock" socks. i just forgot to give him needles so he gave the whole thing back to me. i had one sock done and needed to do the mate (choke!). and i have had to frog the heel flap more than once because i did not write down how many stitches i used for the heel flap and used too many the first time. then after the second attempt, realized that i didn't knit enough rows BEFORE starting the heel flap. it is dangerous to be "IN" my head. at least my stripes are matching!

the pink panda silk was started almost a year ago. as you can tell, i have been very lax in starting/finishing the second sock and just as lax at writing up the pattern. i LOVE the panda silk and i LOVE the pattern. i just get easily distracted. oh, LOOK! pretty yarn.....

on the needles now 11/1

these are two colors of the new superwash Panda Wool, called Psup [Pea Soup] for shorthttp://www.straw.com/cpy/yarns/pandaSuperwash-card.htmlhand.... this is a striped toddler sock in new pink print and mint print. here are the colors Psup colors

this is a new color that's coming in panda cotton, called Joyful. it is much prettier than photo shows, so will do another pic tomorrow. panda cotton
this is the magnificent, wonderful, terrific, gorgeous, can't-stop=knitting Mini-Mochi, which is a superwash merino sock wt yarn. i am knitting the "intense rainbow" - more colors here at Mini-mochi colors. this yarn will be in your stores in early jan.
This is a new scarf i'm working on, which is a Tibetan Prayer flags design, and is using the 5 colors of DK panda silkDK Panda Silk ... it uses natural, forest, cranberry, denim and then the buttercup tones in Panda silk {doubled} panda silk colors
..... these 5 colors are water/air/earth/fire/spirit in the traditional Tibetan symbolism, and of course are the colors in prayer flags. i plan to knit in traditional symbols also - the OM, wheel of the dharma, endless knot, dorje, etc. Scarf will be a gift for my longest friend Kaitlin.

i have another thing on needles, a peach and forest wrister, but the forest didn't photo well, so will try tomorrow

blessings, L
