Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Everyone! I've really enjoyed reading through your posts and being inspired by your projects. Quite a few have ended up in my queue on Ravelry.

I finished 10 pairs of socks for Christmas presents - making the total 18 pairs. One pair for each of my family - except my poor Mother. But, it has become a tradition that I don't finish at least one of her gifts and give her the yarn, needles, and pattern wrapped. Out of Crystal Palace Yarn, I finished these socks for my niece. Using just under one ball of Mini Mochi in Jenny Lake (173 yards), these are Cinnamon Bay Socks by Phyll Lagerman. Knit up on 2.0mm. http://www.ravelry.com/projects/sdhsmc86/cinnamon-bay-socks-by-phyll-lagerman

To finish out the year, I wanted to try the Noro Keyhole Pattern again, this time actually making the keyhole. I got some Mochi Plus in Blueberry Pancakes on sale at my LYS. This is a quick knit on US10 needles and used about 140 yards. http://www.ravelry.com/projects/sdhsmc86/noro-keyhole-scarf-2

Looking forward to sharing 2012 with all of you!

October Prime Time Projects

Hey All! Happy Fall from Michigan. Maggie just told me it feels like winter and asked "Shouldn't we pull the Christmas movies out yet?" Anyhow...I managed to finish several things in October and wanted to share these three projects. First up I knitted a simple scarf using Mochi Plus in Tapestry Rainbow - which I'm totally in love with - and a bit of Squiggle on the Ends (201 yards total). Then I used some more Squiggle and paired it with some Filatura Di Crosi Zara and made the Cupcake Hat (free pattern on Straw.com) - about 73 yards. Finally, I finished off the month with a couple of Christmas Ornaments in Mini Mochi Red Zone. The first one ended up so big that I made it into a cat toy. The second turned out pretty cool. I would like to make some more in time for Christmas to attach to gifts. Hope November is a great month for everyone!

Yikes! I almost forgot to post my projects for September. Finished a few pairs of socks this month but wanted to show off the Autumn Flowers Scarf made out of 243 yards of Mini Mochi in Strawberry Lime Rainbow and the Comfort Socks made from Panda Silk in Twilight (171 yards). The Comfort Socks are an easy knit, starting at the cuff, working a slip stitch heel flap and then knitting back and forth for several inches before rejoining to finish off the toe in the round. I wore them for two days straight after finishing!

The Autumn Flowers Scarf is my first crochet project in a while and its for my niece Cathy for Christmas. She picked out the yarn and the pattern and I really like how it turned out. The flowers sewn on the bottom really help the scarf lay flat. Yes! Another Christmas gift done!

Prime Time August Project

Hey All!
I made another Coquille Shawl for my sister Cathy during August - along with a few pairs of socks. Gah - I'm already behind on my 52 pair plunge by 2 pairs! I purchased some lovely MM in Red Zone at a cool LYS in Long Grove, IL on vacation and used about 486 yards making the small size. This time I hard blocked it by giving it a good soak and I love how it turned out. Magpie is modeling:

Looking forward to fall getting here and September. Fall to me means College Football Season, which is my favorite sport.

July Prime Time!

I can't believe we are in August! Does anyone else feel behind on Christmas knitting yet?

I got a few pairs of socks made this month - but I'm most excited to have finished my Maiden Shawl in 5 balls of Panda Silk in Strawberry Cream. I love the blocking process. This went from dresser scarf size to a nice sized shawl.

Under the Wire June Prime Time Post!

Hey all - I'm enjoying a gorgeous (not too hot) Sunday here in Michigan. I managed to finish up a few things in June. Wanted to share my North Dakota Magic Mystery Dog socks made out of Merino 5. Used just over 3 balls and made these for my dad's birthday. I adjusted the size a bit for his thin legs and made them very long. Also, I worked the symbols down the instep. I finished a few other gifts as well, but wanted to share my progress on the Maiden Shawl in Panda Silk. I'm really hoping this blocks larger so that I don't end up with a dresser scarf. But, I do love the stitch definition.

And I received some lovely Sausalito in French Roast for the surprise Prime Time Drawing - plus a US 8, 16" circular CPY bamboo needle! I really like the joins on these.

May Prime Time - Post #3!

Happy June everyone! I finished up a few projects this month and thought I'd share. Earlier I posted my 2nd Rodekool scarf, made for my oldest sister. It turned out great. Then I made Sunday Swing socks for my mother for Mother's Day, a small purse for my daughter for Prom, an Animal Crackers Hat for Maggie as well and a pair of flip flop socks - Flippants for my sister Mary.

Now for some details! The Rodekool scarf was knit with 230 yards of Mini Mochi in Brandied Apricots and Caramel Latte. I used Dream In Color Smooshy Good Luck Jade for the Sunday Swing Socks (351 yards). For the Silk Purse, I tried some Laines Du Nord Mulberry Silk and mixed it with Ironstone Paris Nights - about 100 yards. The Animal Crackers Hat was made from all leftover skeins of Brown Sheep Lambs Pride and Cascade - about 179 yards total! Finally, Flippants was made with leftover Panda Superwash in Evening Blues and only needed 84 yards. Total yards knitted in May was 944.

May was a very productive month - glad I got my knitting mojo back! I can't wait to show you guys the shawl I'm working on with Panda Silk in Strawberry Fields. I had several balls of it in my stash to make pink ribbon socks but decided that it would make a lovely Maiden Shawl by Marla Mutch.

May - Finished Rodekool and Sunday Socks WIP

Finished my 1st May project - the Rodekool scarf in Caramel Latte and Brandied Apricots - used about 230 yards together - still not sure how you can get one of these scarves out of just one ball of Mini Mochi! Also, started socks for my Mother - better late than never - as a present for Mother's Day. I already finished the Coquille scarf for her, but she really wants another pair of socks. Making up the Sunday Swing Socks from Knitty Summer 2009. So quick! I started these yesterday early afternoon and finished one already. So here are some pictures!

May Prime Time - WIP

I started off May with a bang working on a 2nd Rodekool scarf for one of my sisters. I'm so enjoying this knit that I almost forgot to take an in-progress picture. I hope to finish it today and then get busy on my mother's socks for tomorrow - which I have no hope of finishing.

I'm using Mini Mochi in Caramel Latte and Brandied Apricots and love the way the color changes seem to mirror each other - when one gets more gray, so does the other - when one lightens up, so does the other. Very cool. I'll measure the balls when I get done and figure out yardage.

April Prime Time

I lost my knitting mojo in April. Just about every project I cast on ended up in the frog pond. I did manage to finish my Coquille in Rainbow Trout and I loved making it so much that I'm going to make another in the new Red Zone for one of my sisters.

I made the smaller version and used about 2.25 balls of Mini Mochi.

I don't know what's got me so down - but here's hoping that May is a better month!

March PrimeTime

Hi All! I finished several projects in March and wanted to share these:
First up - my Missouri, Waterfall Lace Socks in CPY Merino 5 Ultra Blues. I made them long enough to use up all but 15 yards of 3 balls - so about 315 yards. They are so comfy.

Second - I finished a pair of Tadpole socks for my sister in Chicago who is recovering from hip surgery. Worked these in Fleece Artist Nyoni - about 320 yards.

Third - a pair of Straight Up Socks for myself in Knitters Brewing Company Sockaholic Sweet. I love toe up socks because I can then use up all of the yarn - about 390 yards

Fourth - a gaiter for my brother in law in Patons Classic Wool and Manos Maxima - 163 yards

Fifth - I most excited to have finished Tea Leaves Cardigan by Melissa LeBarre, using up over 1200 yards of KP Elegance from stash.

Of course, I then rewarded myself with a non-sanctioned yarn purchase from Jimmy Beans for the Coquille Shawl. ;-)

February PrimeTime Entry

I still haven't figured out how to get the pictures lined up, but can't mess with it anymore before I go to bed. I did several projects for February, but I'm really happy with these two shown. The first one is a pair of Gentleman's Socks (Kristi Schueler) in Mini Mochi Feldspar. The hat is the Hatticus pattern and done in Chunky Mochi in Neptune. Both were fun patterns and I'm happy with the results. I used 350 yards for the socks and about 76 yards for the hat. Bring on March!
