My Holiday List

I'm getting really excited about knitting for the holidays, so here's my list:
1.) Dumpling Bags: very cute felted round bag (Interweave Knits, Fall 2008) I'm planning on making 2 for the girls at work to use as gift bags for their gifts.

2.) Felted Pears: (Holiday Interweave Knits Gifts, Holiday 2006) I'm making a few for my mom, since she loves decorating with fruit.

3.) A scarf- still deciding on the pattern, will be for my mom

4.) Bunny stuffed animal: (from a book: Knitted Toys by Zoe Mellor). For my little cousin who just turned 2 earlier this month, she loves bunnies.

5.) Puppy stuffed animal: (from a book: Knitted Toys by Zoe Mellor). A request from a co-worker for her granddaughter, since I have made quite a few of these for baby showers. Very adorable.

6.) Classic Teddy Bear: fully jointed teddy bear for myself to add to my teddy bear collection. (Interweave Knits, Holiday Gifts 2007)

7.) Peppermint Twist knit Socks: (Today's Creative Home Arts Magazine, September/October 2008) These will be for my sister

It seems like a long list to get done in a short period of time, but a lot of them are quick knits. I'm hoping to get them all done, plus some. See you all on Oct. 1st with speeding needles to get projects done.

Is it ok to be a little bit selfish?

as I am planning two projects for the KAL...
1 is a sweater for me, as I really need a few. I bought a really big ball of yarn (500 grams/1650 meters and that should be enough for a sweater in my size. (in yards: 1888.4)

2 is a set of wrist warmers in Panda Wool/Panda Soy. The idea is already in my mind...

And after all the knitting done for my kiddies recently, I thought it would be nice to knit for me this time ;-)

OlympicSox prize

My OlympicSox prize arrived on Saturday! 2 pretty skeins of red Panda Soy.

I can't wait to try this yarn!! I still haven't decided what I want to knit during this KAL, but I'm sure it will be fun.

Also, many thanks to Steph G. for the KAL button! It looks great and I've already added it to my blog.

button, BUTTON, we got a

...BUTTON!!

thank you, steph g. this is the first time i have ever been able to get a button posted on a blog. of course, this may be the ONLY time i will ever get a button posted on a blog. remember to save the image to your own computer.

if you are using blogger, the trick is to:
  • "add a gadget"
  • "add HTML/JavaScript"
  • copy and paste this code to the big blank space: blogger will not let me show you what to copy and paste as it is html code and it makes blogger get confused.
i will try to figure out a way to post it so blogger does not think it is code. but that will be later

if you don't understand this, don't contact me because i don't have a clue.

i love you, steph g. you are my hero. now to see if i can get this dang thing up on my own blog.

Howdy!

Howdy! I'm Steph G from Ohio and I just joined in this afternoon (Thanks Adrienne! *grin*); this is going to be such fun! :) I have a few ideas that I'm tossing around for my projects...I still have a few days to scheme and plot! LOL I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's projects and maybe making a few new knit pals. :)

Yarn Holiday

I just got my Crystal Palace Panda Soy yarn today in the mail, from the Olympic Sox contest. Yea. It feels like a yarn holiday. I received 2 skeins of velvet blue. Very pretty, just the perfect color to go with jeans. I'm thinking they will go towards socks, or a pretty scarf. Thanks again, crystal palace for donating the wonderful yarn. Your yarn is absolutely to die for, especially when used in socks.

Yeah! Yarn!

I just received 2 balls of Panda Soy from the Olympic Sox contest. A very pretty Cocoa Mint and a wonderful 270 yards! Whee. What to do? I can not wait. My daughter picked up the package and wants it bad. But that is not going to happen yet! She is only 7 but to her credit she can cast-on, knit and purl. She will be passing me up soon for sure.
Thanks Dr. Laura and CPY!!!!!
