Dog days UFO project

I started this in May and stopped to knit another Oz shawl, hat for Andrew and socks and 2 cowls for Cheryl. This is just the incentive I need to get back to this. I figure I was at about 30% finished here. Miss Bab's yummy 3 ply sock she says is sport weight. Great yarn and fun pattern.
I also have 3 single socks that need mates I'd like to knit during this time. Not one of them is started yet. Adrienne's Rainbow, Sox on the Beach and a Jeeves for Fred. We'll see how long the discipline lasts. :)

Wedding mittens for May

Remember the bridesmaids' headbands? These are the bride's mittens. The wedding is in 7 hours. I finished these on the plane on Memorial Day, but this is the first chance I've had to post anything to anybody. The posting is still late for the KAL for May, but at least my sister will have them. Because, really, every new bride needs new mittens for her summer honeymoon to Hawaii.

dog days of summer ufo kal

anyone interested in a ufo kal for the summer months? not that i have "that" many ufo's (cough, cough). of course, if you don't have any ufo's, you can knit a new project. :)

note to debi: and no, i haven't counted how many "one" socks i have in my collection!

if you are interested, please leave a comment.

12/12/12boy May

Hi, wanted to add my pair of Montana socks for the month (now that I know where they go!) I loved the pattern and yarn. It is Spunky Eclectics yarn in Blush and I had tons left over. I made it just as the pattern was written except for gauge I went up a needle size. Now, I need a blouse to go with it! So, for the month one pair of socks one cowl and four dishcloths out of two skeins. A new world record for me! With thanks to all of the knitters and designers that have graced me with their knowledge and time!

last 12/12/12boy items for May.

Hi, I finished the gift for my neice for her wedding along with the cowl (already posted.) I used two skeins of cotton from Michael's ( forgot the brand) and it made four dishcloths. The pattern is the Squidge Cloth on Ravelry. I used size six needles and it was super easy until my son cut my yarn off of the project and snipping the project too! I was a "little" upset. I think it was harder for him to know that other people (lys friends) knew it too! The green is really pretty and I think now that is is just a "family" gift. I actually picked the yarn for a project for me that was more challenging. Maybe if I can quit doing socks I can make some more. And at least if Karly's dishcloths only lasts a short time she won't have a problem with it!
The other items are and wip's that were finished (or fixed) for our local "Alien Days Festival. Our LYS has a UFO project contest (un-finished objects!) I think I finally can eliminate the gusset hole repairs now, yeah. I am getting better! I also finished a pair of socks late last night. Not sure if I can count them for next month or this one. I will post them later this week after family is healthy. Hope everyone's holiday was nice!

Finished project for May

I got my socks done just in time!
They're Kristi socks (Cookie A) in Crystal Palace Yarns Panda Superwash 'Berry Compote' (my prize from the Olympics KAL).

May Projects Finished

The scarf was knit with Echo ribbon and size 10 needles. I made it as a thank you for a friend. The baby socks are size 3 needles and Sirdar Magic yarn - made for a baby shower in June. I made this little entrelac bag with size 6 needles and Ironstone yarn. Lots of little stuff. Next month I'm working on socks! You are all so wonderful and what you accomplish in a month is truly amazing! Thanks! Happy Knitting to All... Renee' aka yoyosocksister.

Finished items for May and things underway

Hey - that rhymed!

May was a productive month! I started and finished Diamond Delight shawl. The yarn is Kauni EQ that I purchased at NH Sheep and Wool Festival – such a fun day! I used about 500 yards for this shawl.

I also started and finished a pair of plain vanilla socks using a yarn from Twisted Fiber Arts – it’s the Ravelry colorway and it’s a base called Shiny – half merino and half Tencel- the yarn really is shiny! I used about 400 yards for these socks.

I finished March Mosaic Socks – the design’s by Wendy Johnson. It’s the March offering from the Loopy Ewe’s sock of the month club this year. The yarn is Fiesta Yarns Baby Boom. I used about 400 yards for this project also.

Since I’ve finished all my sweaters that were OTN, I started two new ones! I started the Tulip Cardigan a couple of weeks ago and it’s slow going because it’s using fingering weight yarn with 3.0 mm needles. I’m using Wollmeise 100% Pinie for the base. Everyday I try to do a few rows.

I also started Myrtle Cardigan by Snowden Becker. It’s so much fun – it’s all lace work. I’m making this in Wollmeise 100%- colorway is Lila Ludmilla

I’m also well underway with a pair of socks by Adrienne Fong called Dewdrops. The first sock is done – like all her patterns, they seem to just fly off the needles. The yarn is Pagewood Farm – St. Elias – in the watermelon colorway which I believe was dyed for theknitter.com’s sock of the month club. I continue loving this club – I do the every other month luxury club. I likely will use around 400 yards for this project.

I also started a pair of Vesper wee skein socks – they’re kind of intriguing. The wee skein kits have 4 skeins of her self-striping yarn that you can knit together anyway you choose. Very fun! I'll post pictures of these and the two sweaters later on.

Edited on Wednesday, June 2 to include WIP pictures!

One More WIP

I think my yardage is a hair short for this month so I'm also going to knit a quick entrelac bag. Using size 6 dpn and Ironstone yarn in color 003.

May's Baltimore Woman Shawls

This has been a busy month. I am so happy that I was able to finish something. I have wanted to use some Malabrigo for a long time. A couple of months ago, I visited Baltimore for a couple of weeks and found some Malabrigo there that I loved!!! Then I saw the Traveling Woman pattern and thought it was kismet!! So I made the Baltimore Woman:

I love this shawl!!!

More Socks

I finished another pair of socks this month. Started May 2 and finished May 29. Pattern is the SKA May 2010 Mystery Pattern by Cookie A. Yarn is Dream in Color Smooshy in Plum Paisley. Needles 2.25mm Harmony dps. Here's another picture where the toes show.

I've made progress on the socks for DH. The pattern is from The Unique Sheep Ram Club and had a number of problems. I've been in communication with the designer. The kit included 4 yarns in progressively darker shades of brown.
