July 2010 Carefree 12/12/12 KAL

Well, I finished with a little time to spare - a moment of panic when the camera didn't want to cooperate! My socks this month are made with Crystal Palace Panda Soy yarn in the Provence colorway. I used the Sultry Lace Sock pattern by Debbie Haymark from the 50 Socks -50 States CD. The needles I used were size 1 square dpn. I had to redo the pattern a little by removing several repeats (my first sock screw-up turned into a little drawstring bag). The beads add a little bling to the top of the socks. Now I am on to the finishing touches on the Dog Days KAL...

Another project started

I started another project, a test knit of RoseHiver's Abstract Rhombus socks. This is my first attempt at stranded knitting. My Papaver socks are still in progress, and I'm going to have to knit quickly to finish a pair before the end of July. I think I'll make it, though - I should have quite a bit of time for knitting in the next couple of days.

July KAL

Here are my projects for July's KAL:

First I have a knitted bed sock. The pattern came from the Knit-a-Day calendar. I used acrylic sport weight yarn and I used about 200 yards.

Next I have a crocheted brick socks. I got a pattern out of a Crocheted Socks book. The yarn is Knit Picks Stroll Sport sock yarn and I used about 300 yards.

The final sock is also a crocheted sock, this is my own design. The yarn I used is Deborah Norville Serenity sock yarn. About 400 yards went into the sock.

wip finished for Dog Days

Hi, here is another wip. I only had the ribbing done on one mitt. It is Mini Mochi and I love the colors. I do not like that they are fraternal. But, my DD is wearing them today at VBS for "Blue Day." So, I will probably have to make me a new pair. Love the Mochi except for one black poof that showed up on the palm side of the right mitt. Luckily for picky me (or Katie) they won't show! You can barely see it on the one on the right. Only a knitter might notice. LLOOVVEE the color!

*Whew* Finished with a couple of days to spare.

My July entry is done, using 8.5 balls of Elann's Sonata. It's a bit over 100 yds per ball. Yes, I'm the queen of estimation. Either way IT IS DONE! Yay! Just in time for our impromptu informal family reunion. Guess what I'll be sporting?!? I don't know if I'm going to get an entry done for dog days, BUT I still have about a week, so who knows?!?! (Never mind that I have a whole new big goal to be done in time for Stitches Midwest.....)

Cheers!

July's Project Done

Here is my Calais Shawl. This is about all the knitting I got done this month. I used Fleece Artist Sea Wool yarn in Cosmic Dawn.  I had fun knitting this and was an easy knit.
I am working on the Brandywine Shawl one day I will get it finished.
Happily knitting Bye

12m/12p/12b Gloves

A pair of gloves with matching wristers. I want to add some small round buttons to the edge of the gloves so that the wristers can be attached to extend the length of the cuff. Of course, the wristers can also be worn alone! 348 yards.

My sock yarn blanket

© Lansingerland 2010

My sock yarn blanket is finished for now. I am totally out of sock yarn scraps and used everything I had.
Length of the blanket is approximately 64 inches, for this little sleeper it is enough. (ca 4500 meters yarn used in total.)
