My April Projects

I have the progress photos of most of the cloths. Had some trouble with my computer and lost some of my saved photos, but this was the best I could do. I hope it works out OK.

The items include:
a Blue baby blanket caron soft yarn 1 whole skein (yards ??)
6 total dishcloths, one I designed as well
5 mini socks
8 towel toppers
1 Cravat

I need to find a better way to document these things and I also need to figure out the yardage for everything. I've been so stressed and stretched these past few months. I will try to be better.

52 Week Challange - Debbie (Grandma 07)

I've decided to use Panda Silk in color 3010 for my May project. I cast on this pair of Glynis socks this morning.

52 week KAL

Hoorah! I got the SFS leisure socks done last night - too late to take a picture, but I'll get one tonight. Made the April deadline, just, LOL.

52 Week Challenge

I'm Baaaack... Here they are, felted but still wet. The orange one was supposed to be a pillbox (based on a few patterns seen online), but I ran short of yarn so it is what it is. The black one, based on the (unfelted) Maltese Hat pattern by EZ and reinterpreted by Meg Swansen, will need some adjustments if I try again. It's for a friend's husband who, when he put one of my unfelted slippers on his head as a joke, made me think of a member of the Mongol Horde, and I knew I just had to try and make him a hat. I can't decide if it looks like a Mongol Horde hat, or something one of the Coneheads would wear! :o) While it looks like two flaps, they are actually connected in the back to protect one's neck as well. I should have gotten a pic to show, but didn't think about it until too late. Oh well, no other way to learn unless I try! At least it no longer looks like a bra, right? Anyway, total knit, about 400yds.

April 52 week KAL

I finished my Sampler Socks for the 52 week challenge:

04.29.09 004

Started: 4/1/09
Finished: 4/24/09
Pattern: Sampler Socks from knotions.com (knit toe up with 2X2 ribbing at top)
Yarn: Sockina Cotton - color 0005
Needles: US 1 magic loop
Yardage: approx. 260 yards

I also cast on a Bee Stitch dishcloth on 4/26/09:
04.29.09 006

and I finished it on 4/28/09:
04.29.09 007

Yarn: Sugar 'n Cream cotton in Beach Ball Blue
US 7 circular needles
yardage: approx. 75 yards

For May, I'm planning to try to the mystery sock by Yarnissima in the Sock Knitters Anonymous group on Ravelry. I think I want to try some of the Panda Soy yarn that I either won or purchased last year, but have yet to knit with!!!

52 Week Challenge

It's been a long month between the weather, the baseball and track, lambing and whatever, but here are my in progress pics of two more felted hats to be, although I know that one of them looks more like a bra right now, lol. Those are supposed to be earflaps; it's based on an unfelted pattern, so who knows WHAT I will find when I take it out of the washing machine! They both will go into the wash tonight and I will take my finished photos then, hopefully that will be soon enough!

52 Weeks KAL-April Projects and New Beginnings

Finally finished and qualifying for April is the cardigan out of yak/merino yarn. Not yet embroidered as planned, because I think it is beautiful now and embellishing can wait for another cardigan.
Here is the proof of two sleeves and room for my global shape.

Bertie socks for my husband. Ordered.

New playful design for some daughter. Not ordered :-)

New sweater for summer, cotton mix, initials will make a clear statement of owner-to-be :-)
This KAL is good for me! I would never have gone for finishing that cardigan as it seemed endless to knit and to sew. Now I am so happy.

Nebula Socks

Yeah I can post these. I had the pleasure to test knit a new Cookie A pattern. Started these April 13 finished April 17 but could not post until the pattern was released. It was today.

This is the progress picture, it shows how one sock twist more than the other on the magic loop.

This is a finished picture. They twist the same off the needles. I kept the twist going on into the toes. Fun, keep ya on your toes pattern.

52-Week for April

Hi here is the last hat for April. It is for Katie because she will not take it off! Katie is actually wearing the hat inside out because she did not like the ridge pattern. So, I took one flat and me wearing it (that was goofy to photograph while wearing it! Not flattering of my upper arms either!) So, 722 yards total. (Not including the two traveling scarves.)
And question for the masters of this site. My daughter is wearing an adult size hat now! I have told her since she was a baby with 90% head size that God gave her too many brains! But, how do I do hats to fit? Is the hat size measurement above the forehead around the back? And if I have to eventually make it bigger- how do I do this on a patterned hat? I want to make the Grace Lace Hat on Ravelry. Thanks, your sock mastery humbles this newbie knitter! (That is why my name on Ravelry is Knit-Frog-Knit!) I spend too much time in the frog pond! Alas, I am entering a sock war for fun and going to knit (re-try) a pair on socks for me. Wish me blessings on even starting the thing before being killed!
