Mitts for October

I test knitted mitts. The pattern was interesting....To help with the process I ended up knitting lets just say a few. Good News....had yarn in stash Better News....Christmas presents crossed off that every growing list.

My sister found this yarn and brought it to me. It is wound on a spool 2 threads together. The yarn is suppose to do a pattern. Not wanting at the time to knit straight socks I tried to use Tiki Tiki. The pattern did not show up very well so for the foot I just knitted away.

Found it interesting how to knit off the spool. That part of this was fun. The fact that the box went with the sock made these not portable.

I also made a few pairs of clogs.......but you have all seen clogs before so not to bore you with pic I will just say....more gifts are complete. That list is getting smaller everyday. Hoping for December to be a me me knit month. MMKM.

October Prime Time Projects

Hey All! Happy Fall from Michigan. Maggie just told me it feels like winter and asked "Shouldn't we pull the Christmas movies out yet?" Anyhow...I managed to finish several things in October and wanted to share these three projects. First up I knitted a simple scarf using Mochi Plus in Tapestry Rainbow - which I'm totally in love with - and a bit of Squiggle on the Ends (201 yards total). Then I used some more Squiggle and paired it with some Filatura Di Crosi Zara and made the Cupcake Hat (free pattern on Straw.com) - about 73 yards. Finally, I finished off the month with a couple of Christmas Ornaments in Mini Mochi Red Zone. The first one ended up so big that I made it into a cat toy. The second turned out pretty cool. I would like to make some more in time for Christmas to attach to gifts. Hope November is a great month for everyone!

Carefree Holiday KAL projects

Hello. I finished my Triplicity Shawlette.

October Prime Time

I FINALLY got a finished picture of my intended October project, so here you go!

This is a citron done in Wolle’s Yarn Creations Color Changing Cotton, which is about 490 yards. I didn't have much left when I finished it. :) I believe the colorway for this was Mellow II. Size 6 knitpicks options.

October Prime Time

This pair is from the September Mystery KAL in Sock Knitters Anonymous. Watercress Socks by Lise Brackbill in Knit Picks yarn.

My daughter picked the Cocoa Mint Maizy yarn and asked for Footies. I had to break into the second ball to finish the pair. Her sister gets a little sweater in Mini Mochi for her stethoscope. I used 1/2 a skein. If these work out, there will probably be more!

Prime Time KAL - 10/11 Finished

Finished my Triplicity Shawlette by Michelle Hunter. Used Simplicity yarn by HiKoo in the Teal colorway and size 10 needles. It was a lot of fun and I learned several new techniques which is always a good thing. The pattern is available through http://www.knitpurlhunter.com
The shawlette was just short of 300 yards so I also knit some baby socks for my friend's upcoming grandbaby. This used left over stash of Patons Look at Me and size 3 needles. I tend to use the same baby pattern by Edie Eckman for baby socks.

Octobers Prime Time

I can't believe that October is almost over and Christmas is almost here. I was able to get a few things done this month. I finished a pair of socks I used yarn that I purchased at Sock Summit 2011 this summer from Amy Lee. The colorway is Count Dracula so this is my Halloween Socks. They are your basic stockinette with an afterthought heel. I think they turned out well.

I bought the book Coastal Knits by Hannah Fettig and Alana Dakos. I love the photograph in this book and the patterns are great. I decided right away to cast on the Rustling Leaves Beret and loved how it turned out. I had plenty of yarn left so decided to make a pair of fingerless gloves. I used the leaf pattern in the beret and worked them into the gloves. I really like how these turned out and I just hope I did Alana proud.

I have a pair of socks on the needles thought I might get them done this month but don't see that happening. I have cast on a cardigan out of Coast Knits called Rocky Coast and hope to have it done by the end of November, will see if that happens.  Till next month Happily knitting, Bye.

October KAL

I did several projects this month, the largest projects is my cotton shopping bag. It is crocheted mesh bag with a diagonal bar added. I used up a large ball of Bernat Cotton Twist yarn. Then I made Mr. Peanut, the stuffed elephant. I made a Solomon Knot Mobius Scarf. Finally I made a plastic basket using Rexlace I bought at Michaels.
