September socks done

Not the easiest patern to create, these Drunken Bee Socks. But they turned out nice. Started on Sept 2nd, and finished them half an hour ago. Approx. 390 meters of yarn were used.

September Finish

I finished my project for September in 11 days. Yay!  I just got some pictures of me with it on today, though.

I've made the  Lady Grey Lace Shrug by Rachel Erin in Knit Picks Palette, colorway Garnet Heather. It took me 2.5 or a smidgen less balls, so I'm at about 575 yards. I am pretty sure I used a set of size 4 knit picks interchangeable needles for this. They might have been 5s but I doubt it.

This was a really quick knit except for the darned cuffs, but since I did that monstrosity of a yellow shawl earlier for the WIP KAL I'd done edging like the cuff edging before and it didn't take as long as it would have.

12m/12p/12b Shawl

My first shawl, and an opportunity to use some of the Regia yarn which has been plaguing me for ages! It didn't work for socks, nor gloves...but it works just fine for this Multnomah shawl, together with some dyed-by-me yarn as an accent.

Peacockdaddy socks for 12/12/12 Sept entry

Simple Skyp Socks by Adrienne Ku which is free on ravelry. I used Cascade Heritage paints and had just a tiny bit left. I've misplaced my notes on color and amount left. 2.25mm needle, size large. Great pattern to use many more times.

heart mitts dyed peacock neck color :)

These are much more of an intense sapphire color in person and I'm pleased with the finished mitts. The Merino Magic nice to use and takes the dye easily.

Heart mitts by Suzyknits on rav

I decided to begin this heart mitt pattern on Sept 6th which was the anniversary of when we arrived in Oz 9 years ago. I finished on 9/11. My heart has always been in 2 countries. I dyed them in the crockpot the next day when we had a guest to lunch and I thought I could sneak in a bit of yarn fun since it was my birthday and I figured I deserved more yarn time as a present to myself. Hint: don't cook wool with vinegar if you want your kitchen to be appetizing and appealing. :)

I chose a mixture of dyes to try and capture a peacock neck color. I'm happy to report it is much more accurate in person than my camera can capture. Fun pattern to knit and these fit perfectly. 3 gms left in the 50gm ball of Merino Magic. I don't know why, but I can't get the picture icon to work and add the finished dyed mitts. I will try again later and send this while I can. This isn't my September entry, just one I wanted to show and suggest for gift giving. Free pattern on ravelry titled "I Heart Knitting Mitts".
