Red Rock Canyon Shawl

This will be for August.
Pattern: Abyssal
Yarn: CPY Meringue (note: athough this has been D/C -- you can still find it. It is great to work with. Wool with a bit of stretch built in. It has a bit of texture to it, but still shows off lace & cable patterns. I have gotten some at LYS --when I travel-- and also computer shopping & ebay.)
Color: Ember Glow
Needles: 10.5US
******
This shawl is from the bottom up. 4-5 inches of a "feather and fan lace pattern" and then short rows to finish up. The original pattern has two types of yarn -- fingering and an alpaca.....but I think this is one of those GDM (gauge doesn't matter) projects. I think I will have to start a catagory in my Ravelry library for GDM projects, because lately, I seem to enjoy using yarns which were not originally intended!! I think this will take about 3 - 4 skeins (123 yds)...or somewhere around 369 - 492 yds
