12/12/12 - December

Hoping I'm in under the wire (thanks for e-mailing, Adrienne, or I might have forgotten completely):My Knotty gloves are finished. I'm fairly pleased with them, but I did learn a few things to try when I knit gloves again. I don't know how often I'll do that - there were a lot of ends to weave in!

Something other than socks

See? I do knit something other than socks:The pattern is Knotty, and this is my first attempt at knitting gloves. I started on Christmas Eve and haven't had a lot of time to knit (and the first glove has been finished since I took this picture), so since I have this week off I think I have a reasonable chance of finishing the pair in the next couple of days. I'm enjoying having a bit more time to knit.

Am I in time?

It's still the 4th here, so I'm hoping this will count. I'd been waiting to take a picture when I was home during the day (so that it would have a better chance of showing them accurately) and just realized that I'd run out of time. This is the pair of socks I finished in November:
The pattern is Scatterling by Hunter Hammersen, and I love how the socks turned out.

Made it!

After spending much of yesterday and all of this morning on it, my second Froot Loop sock is done:
I'm hoping you'll be able to tell they're the same socks - there is a huge difference between kitchen lighting with an additional LED flashlight and sunshine on the porch, and my camera isn't the greatest at compensating for it.

Last minute progress photo

My Scatterling socks are probably for me and aren't done yet, but I needed a quick pair to give a friend so I cast on for Froot Loop a few days ago. I almost forgot that I needed to post a progress photo, but here it is:
I will be knitting frantically this weekend to try to get these finished for the KAL - her birthday's on the 5th, so I have a few days extra if I don't make it.

Another start

Here's my latest new project, Scatterling socks:The Mingus socks I was working on last month have been frogged because they weren't big enough, but I have something else in mind for that yarn so I'm not too disappointed.

September starts

I started my Mingus socks early in September:

I like how it's turning out so far, but the cooler weather we've had lately got me working on something not so lacy:
This is a modified version of Thuja, which is one of my favourite patterns for warm socks to fit in boots.

I hope to have at least one of these pairs done by the end of the month.

Abstract Rhombus for August

Finished August 30th, but I forgot to post them here until now:

I enjoyed learning stranded knitting and hope to knit another stranded project sometime soon.

Papaver socks for July 12/12/12

I finished these just before the end of the month, but I wasn't able to photograph them until today because my camera needed fresh batteries.

Now I'm working on my stranded socks, although I do have some other UFOs around. Maybe I should look for one I can finish in time for the Dog Days KAL.

Another project started

I started another project, a test knit of RoseHiver's Abstract Rhombus socks. This is my first attempt at stranded knitting. My Papaver socks are still in progress, and I'm going to have to knit quickly to finish a pair before the end of July. I think I'll make it, though - I should have quite a bit of time for knitting in the next couple of days.

July cast-on

I started my July project yesterday:I'm using Anne Hanson's Papaver Sok pattern, and I'm not really far enough along yet to know what I think of it.

Last minute June project

These socks have taken quite a while, but they're done now:
The pattern is Running With Scissors by Phyll Lagerman, and the yarn is Fortissima Socka Mexiko Color '24.'

I got my socks done just in time!
They're Kristi socks (Cookie A) in Crystal Palace Yarns Panda Superwash 'Berry Compote' (my prize from the Olympics KAL).

Another May WIP

I cast on yesterday for another project:
Kristi socks in Panda Superwash 'Berry Compote.'

I'd better get knitting if I plan to finish a project this month.

WIP for May

My current project is Running With Scissors socks:Now that I'm done the fun part, though, I might cast on for something else as well (so I'm not sure I'll finish these this month).

Also, my prize yarn from the Olympics KAL has arrived safely - thanks so much! I'll be perusing Ravelry for project ideas.

April project finished

Here's my April project:
Sam socks in Mountain Colors Crazyfoot (which is apparently hard to photograph well).

I had to unravel the first toe and shorten the foot in order to have enough yarn for the second toe.

Start of an April project

The long weekend has given me some extra time to knit, so my April project is going well. I'm knitting Cookie A's Sam socks with Mountain Colors Crazyfoot in 'Moose Creek.'
I hope I'll have enough yarn.

Finished project for March

I did manage to get one project finished for March:They're Interlocking Leaves socks, and I used Oasis Yarn Aussi Sock in 'Oak Moss.' They're my first successful pair of toe-up socks.

My Mexican Waters Lattice Socks have been frogged, so I'm trying to decide on a new project to start for April.

March progress photo

This is my new project for March. It was started on the first, and the picture is a few days old - I'm just about to bind off for the first sock tonight.
Interlocking Leaves (Kelly Porpiglia), Oasis Yarn Aussi Sock 'Oak Moss,' 2.5mm dpns.

I'm still working on my Mexican Waters Lattice Socks, too.
