Holiday Project Finished - Noro Striped Scarf

Finished my Noro striped scarf. I am really happy with how this turned out. Although the yarn is pricy the results are very good. I used four skeins of Noro to complete the project - about 420 yards. 6" x 75". I think it looks great and has gotten some nice looks and compliments when out wearing it.

Holiday Project Finished - Mom's Christmas Socks

OK finally finished my Mom's socks for Christmas this morning. These are the Spring Forward pattern and I used Berocco Sox Metallic about 350 yards or so. These were my first attempt at a pattern sock and went really well. I think she will love them.

Holiday Project #3 - Noro Striped Scarf

I joined the Selfish Knitters group on Ravelry after having a gift scarf be rejected and belittled. Long story but the scarf has been returned and gifted to a knitting friend who absolutely enjoys it now.

The November KAL for the group is a "viral" KAL. Only patterns with more than 5000 projects queued qualify. I have seen the beautiful Noro striped scarfs before and have always wanted to make myself one. The yarn is not cheap but does feel lovely already knitted up. Not so keen on the hidden green tucked inside those midnight blue/black cakes but I still think it will come out well in the end.

Dayflower Lace Scarf - Holiday KAL Project #2 (complete)

First holiday project completed. While up in Colorado for a friend's wedding, my friend Andrea took me to a little LYS called The Knitty Cat. She picked this Malabrigo in the Melilla colorway for a winter scarf. To be honest - in the hank I thought this yarn was kind of ugly. Once wound into a ball I saw how wrong I was.

This is super colorful and the pinks/greens blend very well. Will definitely brighten up a snowy Colorado day! Used a total of 216 yards of the yarn. Finished size 5" x 60".

Dayflower Lace Scarf - Holiday KAL Project #2

Here is my 2nd project for the Holiday KAL. While up in Colorado for a friend's wedding back in late September I went to a very nice yarn store called The Knitty Cat. My friend Andrea picked out this Malabrigo yarn in the Melilla color. To be honest, I thought the color was kind of ugly in the hank but once I wound it I have changed my mind. This is super colorful and I am liking how it is knitting up. This is the most complicated lace pattern I have tried as of yet. It has changing stitch counts, k3tog, p3tog, p2tbl and the like. Hopefully, I won't mess it up! This is going to look great once done and blocked.

1st Holiday project - Socks

OK here is my first work in progress for the holiday KAL. My Mom requested a pair of "hot pink" socks for Christmas. After finding a fantastic Noro Kureyon Sock in hot pink I gave it a go but wasn't liking the variability in the yarn. I frogged that and started this new sock which I like much better. This is the "Spring Forward" pattern and I am using Berocco Sox Metallic. I am loving the variegated so far and the pattern actually comes through relatively well. Knit knit knit!
