52 Week Challenge - Brenda (Owlsrook)

Bluebell Rib Socks in Progress - I have just started the heel flap on sock one of this pair, using Paton's Stretch Socks, lightweight cotton blend. The cuff is 5 inches and this is a six stitch repeat over six rows for the Bluebell Rib.

Here we say goodbye to the Chevron Socks in DGB yarn, these have been sent to the very deepest end of the Frog Pond, never to surface again in sock form. Reason, there are just not any sunglasses dark enough to allow a person to wear the completed item in public. The yarn will remain in stash until such time as I find a pattern that shouts, I need Neon.

Oh well, onwards we go.

Really?? There is no teenager out there who would LOVE those socks?

I have that same pink sock yarn, haven't made anything yet, but I have the yarn, LOL

I like them and would wear them. Sorry to see them leaving to go into the Frog Pond. Do be careful there as Adrienne has a bunch of stuff there you may never see this yarn again.

debi is very mistaken! i rarely "leave" anything "IN" the frog pond. mostly, i sit there, talk to the frogs (all named after her) and get out that pitcher of umbrella drinks.

hey, brenda, don't forget to bring a glass!!!

ps. i personally don't think those socks are too bright. but i do like the pink pair.

I will bring a glass and a lounge chair, I have a lot of pondering to do over this crazy yarn.

Love the bluebells. I had forgotten about that pattern. If I frog my latest start on my pair...I'll give it a shot.

as for the yarn, how much would you want for it. My 14 YO would LOVE IT, right AK!!?!

I tried to post a comment about giving these to a teenager earlier and blogger didn't like me. But in thinking about it since then, I wonder how overdyeing would do for you? It might be interesting since it would show up with more subtle color changes. I think it would be fun to experiment with it. Seems like you have nothing to lose and perhaps a great new yarn to gain. :)

I am a near-to-no-pink user, but both socks a beautiful.

I think I have found a project for this yarn, but if that doesn't work, I just may do an overdye as suggested. I haven't played with yarn dying for awhile.
