Yeah,

I did another two row scarf. It will be for my friend's 50th birthday. She just went through chemo and the hat I made her was too small. (But, Katie took it!) Anyways I used 2skeins of Noro150A and 250A and two skeins of Boku color 1 and color15. I thought it was different than the first one I made so I put that in the background so y'all know there is two different ones. I had lots of ends to weave in because the colors were similar. I wish I had a better camera so you can see how pretty they are! I am so excited to have made it through for the whole year! This one was fun. I am still trying to finish a hat for Darin, and a scarf for Katie. This one and my other two-row scarves are on rav under knit-frog-knit's projects. The link to the pattern is there too. The onlt mod I did was slip purl-wise on every beginning row. I got the mod from the Yarn Harlot, she rocks. But, NOT AS MUCH AS ADRIENNE FOR BEING A FABULOUS MOD!!!!! WE LOVE YOU!

Hi everyone. Lost the camera in Katie's room last night. Here is my entry!

It is the Kentucky sock from the 50 Socks 50 States cd. I modified it a little for fit. Smaller needles 2.25mm, and decreased down by one more pattern repeat on the foot. The second one definately fits better than the first. I used CPY's Rose Musk colorways too. I like these very much. The only bummer is I kinda made the sweater that it goes with fuzzy. My Dh put it in the dryer. It is not bad enough to get rid of it but I propably won't wear it out of the house. I can not wait for Knit Night to show off the socks! yeah.

Hi, here is another project for October. I think it was a Lion brand/box store skein. The pattern is Baktus scarf on Ravelry. I still need to block it out after I get over this cold. It was fun but, a little unnerving using half then decreasing half and wondering if the two sides would match. I will definately make a few more. Perfect daydreaming knitting project. I love the colors with my Mom jeans. It goes with so much. And there may be just enough to make two small mitered squares for the kid's sopck yarn blankets! On to start November ( and I am almost done with the Topsy Turvy cowl.)

12/12/12boy October finish (and progress again)

Hi, Here is what I've been working on. Dishcloths for my Ravelry friend in Texas. 8 finished for the 12X and 8 for the holiday. Basic Peaches and Cream, Red Heart (and the other one.) I am glad to get them done in time for her craft fair for the United Way charity. I used about 50 yards for each one. The pattern will be on my Ravelry projects page as soon as I enter the pics there (modified with a sc edge to make it crisper.) The other half of the dishcloths I will use for the holiday contest.

Plus, here is a picture of my "jean's scarf" (with the last of the red dishcloth in my other hand.) We were doing a scavenger hunt with his pumpkin in the produce section of our grocery store. Isn't he getting big? Can you see the fun fur yarn on his pumpkin? He had to put yarn on it with candy! The skein for the scarf is a gifted sock yarn from Joann's that I had in my stash. It is an easy pattern and I hope to have it done this week and get back to my socks! They are lonely.

12/12/12boy-October progress

Hi, I am putting everything on hold to make dishcloth sets for a friend's craft fair. It is to raise money for the United Way. I am using tons of crochet cotton (peaches and cream and lion cotton and another one- forgot the name.) Here is a progress photo of the red and white. I also have solid green and a Christmas-y colors too. I don't have the yarnage but there are 5 small ones and 1 or 2 big ones. So, I will totally have enough yarnage for the month.

Here is my September entry. Viva Las Vegas (wiggled.) I am so excited to have my first stranded, afterthought heel, gifted (and unfortunately modified for dress code) socks!

But I love them. I like that depending on how she wears them all of the suits (is that right?) show. Dang I do not wanna give them up, I worked so hard on them. But, I am going to make her mittens next! So, they are more show-offable!

Hi, here is my August socks! I used Malabrigo sock yarn in Ochre on 2.25mm's. I like this pair very much. It is the Margarita Summer sock from the 50 Socks 50 States cd. (Back to the Vegas ones now!) The second picture is a more accurate color.

Hi again. Here is my project for July early! I love these socks. They are my favorite color too. The pattern is Meandering Vines pattern in a gifted sock yarn. I used one size smaller needles though. It also is the first pattern I could memorize! Off to think about August and finish my wip hat! I am thinking of making one of Adrienne's patterns. Any ideas? I do not know toe-up though.

12/12/12boy June and present!

Hi, Here is my item for this month. It is a doll sweater for my daughters American Girl Doll. The doll was gifted to her this last month too! I am so grateful that a Ravelry member gave it to her that I had to make something for it! But, I will never do another sweater! The whole time I was worried I would run out of yarn too. I will definately use a solid next time too! Too much making the sleaves and body of the work match jazz (picky,picky,picky!) I also hate being a self taught knitter and not feeling comfortable with the directions on a new project. And, too much sewing up. I used 50 gm's of Opal (the same color as my Rhode Island socks.) The doll is holding the leftovers! Now she can knit! We are making her a pair of knitting needles too! It looks more like an 80's dress that needs leggings because of my gauge I think! But, I can't rip it out.

And here is my gift for the last 50 Socks/ 50 States Rav group! A wonderful color I love in Panda Superwash! I am so glad I did not start the Blue Crab socks! I will be making mine red! Yeah, yeah, yeah! Thanks Adrienne for all of your hard work and Susan for the wonderful gifties! It makes no yarn budget easier to take! Off to cast on! Pray for us again too. Darin lost his job (for the third time) and will be off to California soon to get some work! Have a great Fourth of July holiday! Drive safe ya'll! I have never been so excited to finish a project but, back to socks!

Hi, wanted to add my pair of Montana socks for the month (now that I know where they go!) I loved the pattern and yarn. It is Spunky Eclectics yarn in Blush and I had tons left over. I made it just as the pattern was written except for gauge I went up a needle size. Now, I need a blouse to go with it! So, for the month one pair of socks one cowl and four dishcloths out of two skeins. A new world record for me! With thanks to all of the knitters and designers that have graced me with their knowledge and time!

last 12/12/12boy items for May.

Hi, I finished the gift for my neice for her wedding along with the cowl (already posted.) I used two skeins of cotton from Michael's ( forgot the brand) and it made four dishcloths. The pattern is the Squidge Cloth on Ravelry. I used size six needles and it was super easy until my son cut my yarn off of the project and snipping the project too! I was a "little" upset. I think it was harder for him to know that other people (lys friends) knew it too! The green is really pretty and I think now that is is just a "family" gift. I actually picked the yarn for a project for me that was more challenging. Maybe if I can quit doing socks I can make some more. And at least if Karly's dishcloths only lasts a short time she won't have a problem with it!

The other items are and wip's that were finished (or fixed) for our local "Alien Days Festival. Our LYS has a UFO project contest (un-finished objects!) I think I finally can eliminate the gusset hole repairs now, yeah. I am getting better! I also finished a pair of socks late last night. Not sure if I can count them for next month or this one. I will post them later this week after family is healthy. Hope everyone's holiday was nice!

Hi, I finished my cowl while taking care of my dd who is home from school today. Lost the yarn ballband but purchased at Woodland Woolworks (yeah I live close!) It is the One Row Lace Cowl on Ravelry. Easy pattern and nice size. The weather turned cool and rainy again so I can wear it tomorrow if dd feels better! I hope to finish the wedding gift for my neice and the Treasured Lace socks from the 50 Socks/50 States books this month too.

Hi, I just finished the Rhode Island socks for the month. I used a discountinued Opal yarn for a friend. I loved the pattern and will totally do this one again (just one that is less bright!) Started on April 3rd and finished today! I will also go down a needle size and add more length next time. Yeah! The progress photo is closer to the right color.

Hi, Watch out, sunglasses needed! Here is the pair socks that I am making this month. I am using Opal yarn double stranded. The pattern is Rhode Island from the 50 socks 50 States cd! I like this so one much. It sure is bright!

Hi, I did the SockMadness sock on Ravelry for March. It is the Simple Side-to-Side socks by Deborah Swift (Mt.Mom on rav.) I used a Flat Feet cloth that I got from a friend to make these. So, they totally need to be washed and blocked. The only thing that is stopping me is that I am unhappy with the color progression. One cuff, and toe are a light orange and the others have a darker brown stripes running through them (sort of seen in the top picture.) I am just so picky I want to rip them out and re-do them! It makes me nutty to not just to like them as they are. For April, I am already starting the Cool Beans sock with Mini-Mochi (also in ths SM group.) I also threw in a picture of my family at Disneyland (with Nathan hiding) just for fun! Have a great end to the month!

Hi, Here is my last project for the month. It is a hat for my son's "girlfriend" birthday. She will be five. Ever since they met at one year old they are always together (don't ask about the kissing incident!) I CO'd 42 stitches and knit for about 9 inches before finishing the bag. The tie can be unwoven then raised or lowered for fit. I made it so she can use it a long time and with three different ties (in case one gets lost or she likes a different one each day. I used Burlee yarn from Natura's in Midnight Radience (and wished I had larger circs.) So, the knitting sock bag was just under 200 yds and this hat was 175 yards. Next month I am making a wedding gift and then it is back to socks.
