one last 2010 project

i started this in september for the holiday (or not) kal but didn't manage to finish it until december 31st! ok, i get easily distracted. what can i say? at least, i didn't have to try knitting a PAIR!!!

mini mochi in neptune

i was hoping to have it blocked by now but that obviously has not happened. i am happy with the photos as this is the first time the colors have come out close to the richness of the colors in real life.

i did piece together the colors so the the stripes are wider in the lace section. i love making more work for myself! =P

will return with a picture of the blocked shawl after that happens.

i did finish a scarf! it was a pretty quick knit.

the color in real life is closer to the progress picture. i made the ribbing section longer than the pattern as the giftee has a hefty neck. LOL! i used close to 350 yds.

see!!! i can knit socks in pairs!!!! sometimes. i did give my mom a mismatched pair of socks and told her there was another set just like it coming in the future.

the pattern was modified to center the lace down the instep. i tweak my own patterns. is that sad or what?!

i almost forgot to post my 200 beans

...on the sox! and there really are 200 beans on these. i actually knit more than 200 but some of them have been eaten by the frogs. don't ask. :(

and i did make it through round 2 and met my personal goal of finishing one sock before debi finished her pair. yes, my goals are not lofty. ;o)

i didn't even try round 3 as i had a design that needed to be done asap. and i am so glad i am out as round 4 features the dreaded KNEE HIGHS! which i had already said i wasn't gonna knit; no way, no how! so there!

eta: progress photo...socks truly traumatized me. i have already forgotten that i knit the pair inside out! and that the heel was two colored fairisle. i now know why steeking may be the better alternative.

...why i signed up for sock madness. i am done, for sure, as soon as that pair of knee high socks show up. i am NOT going to knit a pair of knee highs!

i modified them to be preemie size and added the bellybutton icord top! it only took 9 gms to knit one of these. aren't they the cutest things!
