"it's all about ME! ME! ME!!!!" KAL

debi thought that we needed a selfish KAL for US, since we've all spent so much time in the last few months knitting for others.! so carefree kal is having an "it's all about ME!" kal. knit something that you've been wanting to make for yourself between january 13 and february 28, 2011 march 15, 2011 and you will be entered into a prize drawing. prizes will be donated by the ever generous susan of crystal palace yarns.

project must use a minimum of 300 yards knitted or 500 yards crocheted. you will get one entry for each project completed. limit of one prize per person. you know we like to spread the happiness around! no double dipping with the prime time kal.

there will be a special prize drawing from projects knit/crochet with crystal palace yarns products (must be at least 90% cpy).

you must post progress photo and photo of completed project by midnight, march 19, 2011.

leave a comment if you feel like being "selfish!" LOL!

eta: is 6 weeks long enough for the kal? i can extend it to two months if you all want.

YES!!!!! Brilliant idea, Debi!!!! I certainly qualify to enter in the selfish ME ME ME category. ANOTHER reason to postpone Fred's December socks. :) AND I have some Panda silk that has been calling to me for quite a while. I will knit it and then dye in the crockpot. OR if enough energy, I will skein it, dye it and then knit which I think looks nicer.

Thank you.

I do feel if anyone does not agree with a ME ME ME knit. Then I will give you my address and you can knit items for me. I will be happy to give you my sock size, favorite colors and any other details you may need.

Have skeined the Panda silk and it is in the crock pot soaking up lovely color as I type this. I figured I should grab the opportunity and get into the spirit of this ME business before my conscience wakes up...in the meantime, I'm having so much fun I think we need to do this more often. :) Off to get some chocolate now...

I can be a little selfish...lol. I have many baby gifts to complete, but it's nice to finish something for myself. Hmmm... maybe I can do the Mr. Greenjeans cardi I bought wool for 1 1/2 years ago and still haven't cast on.

What fun and how perfect...I am the one person whom I know who definitely appreciates my knitting, and there are a couple of special somethings I have been wanting. Yes indeedy!! I've got the yarn dyed and raring to go. Since there are two 'must do' projects, with deadlines, I'd love the two months.

Yippee! There's a spring in my step already!! LOL!!

Great! Can I use a project I started a couple days ago?

adrienne said...

go ahead, sage71. a day or two isn't a big deal.

Sure, I'll knit something for me. What a novel idea! I don't remember the last thing I made for me.

Hey! I'm all about me, me, me. Especially since I just finished Christmas knitting. So, count me in. I'm thinking a pair of knee high socks in Panda silk...

adrienne said...

susan, are you running a fever?! knee highs? the panda silk will be so luxurious!

Sounds like the perfect excuse to start my socks! I was feeling guilty until I finished up some other stuff but. . .how easily I get over that. Ha
