Holiday or not KAL 4

These two projects are my final entry for the gifts KAL = 221 yards. Had a lot of fun doing the gifts this year. The scarf is finished wt of 86 gms = 150 yds Pattern is by Suzanne Sullivan and called Leaf Wrap Scarf. More details on my Rav project page. The cloth was 42 gms finished and 71 yds. The yarn had a knot in it so I'm keeping this one. :)

Happy Holidays to all of you and may your coming year be filled with joy (which of course includes lots of knitting), good health and love of friends and family

Chinese Fireball by Wychwoodlady on Ravelry is free and a nicely charted enjoyable 1 or 2 day project. The yellow picot edged cloth is a Churchmouse design called "Wee ones" picot edge baby blanket & washcloth. The pink one is by Evelyn Clark called Dapper Dab.

Holiday gift or not KAL 4

Housewarming gift for a friend in England. I made a girly hand towel (Lacy Face Towel by Dianna Stevens) for Anna and used my own pattern for a more masculine hand towel for Neil. :) The yarn is Bernat Gloucester sport at 110 yds/50 gms and I used 103 gms (2 skeins and a bit of a 3rd). I'm showing Anna's gift so you can see it with Neil's. I made Anna's in August so it doesn't count, but forgot to share it. I made Neil's in September/October.

Holiday or not KAL 4

Yippee! I just realized the minimum for each project posted is 200 yds so I don't have to add another goodie to qualify for this posting. Whew! This is another pair of "mostly Adrienne" (same recipe as my previous post using the Madeline Tosh yarn) footies using Panda cotton. I have 26 gms left from the 2 skeins which totaled 100 gms. Very comfy for summer. :) About 240 yds for the pair. color is "misty greens".

Holiday KAL 4

2 projects to make up the required yardage since the footies were just shy of 200 yds.

The "Mostly Adrienne" footies are comprised of a cuff from a Claudia Tietze pattern called Sommerliche Sneaker Socken which I really love for the fit and design. It goes from 72 sts to 60 sts and is interesting to knit. I have changed the remainder using Adrienne Fong's Llama, Llama, Duck heel (EOP with garter stitch) which fits me perfectly. Then plain foot and a 6 pointed star toe Adrienne helped me find years ago and is the only one that has ever fit my skinny toes. I will most likely use these Adrienne elements for all my personal socks and just play with the above the ankle part for fun. Opens up a whole new world of knitting fun having socks that fit! :)

The guest towel is made from Cajun Cotton I brought with us 10 years ago. The pattern in Hourglass towel by Kat Mcab. I know I used over 200 yds, but have misplaced my notes. In any event, great pattern and this brings the yardage well over the minimum for a gift project. Gifts for for moi. :) I have made 4 of these towels and given away 3 of them. Nice to use and I will be making more of them. I brought 20 skeins with me. Glad I did since cotton is hard to get here.

The footies weigh 60 gms finished from a 130 gm skein so I have enough to make a second pair. 395 yds in the skein.

Holiday KAL 4

The peacock pic was taken when I was trying to photograph the cloth.

He "supervised" me. :)

Just realized I tagged my previous entry incorrectly as "gifts or not". Oops!

These cloths are just 2 of many I've knit with a pattern designed for me by Elaine Fitzgerald. See her blog for the free pattern which needless to say I was thrilled to get. Her Ravelry name is Cloverlaine and her blog is here: http://downcloverlaine.blogspot.com/

It is called "A Peacock for Tunie". How exciting is that?! I'm still grinning. I forgot to take pics of the others, but the two here are more than 200 yds to qualify for a holiday entry. They were made in the correct time period having given the others away almost as soon as I made them. I couldn't post them before now because Elaine was using the pattern for her November KAL and I didn't want to spoil the fun.

Holiday gift or not

Panda cotton is perfect for spring and summer here and this experimental pair weighs 60 gms from 100 gms of yarn (2 skeins). Color is peapod. I was practicing the picot cuff, EOP heel flap stitch count for my narrow heel and plain foot with 6 pointed star toe. Good for practice and walking in the summer. :) Footies a gift to myself. :)

Holiday or Not KAL

http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/leaf-wrap-scarf This will be my first Holiday or Not KAL entry. Looks like a fast project and I might end up making a couple of them for gifts. :)
