More for Me

Last week, I received a ball of Mini Mochi in the mail. I love the feel of the yarn, but it is splitting on #2 needles used in my current project. I've designed a pair of fingerless mitts. I'm not writing up this pattern, because I think I can do better.

This will be a pair of mis-matched mitts. the ball of yarn has no repeat colors.

I finished the shawlette from the Panda Silk DK yarn. The two projects together will have enough yardage for a prize.

Casting on 'Daybreak' in mini mochi for 'it's all about ME'

Hi! This is my first knit-along. Yahoo! I am lucky enough to have quite a bit of time each day knitting because I ride the train to work. So, I've (ambitiously?) casted on Stephen West's Daybreak in two of crystal palace's mini mochi colors. I love the way it's coming out so far. Can't wait to see all of your 'all about ME' projects. My picture kind of looks like a smiley face. Didn't plan that ... I swear :-)

i am finished with this one but need to take a picture of the completed scarf. there was definitely something zen-like knitting garter stitch.

my not traveling "traveling woman"

this is a fairly fast knit. YEAH! this is my progress picture after 1 1/2 days of knitting. picture shows one repeat of chart a. i've decided to keep this scarf size so am following the pattern with 2 repeats of chart a, then ending with chart b. i am halfway through chart b!

i found myself with the wrong number of stitches after the stockinette section so just fudged it. i think i must have missed some of those "every row edge yarnovers". oh well.

ufo kal participants

i've just cleaned up the list of ufo kal participants. i left everyone who started a project for the "holiday or not" kal. if i've accidently deleted your name and you want to play, please leave a comment on this post.

everyone who originally signed up for the "holiday or not" kal is still listed as a blog member. i will be deleting non-participating members from that list on tuesday, january 20th.

prizes for the ufo kal are still being decided. there will be a grand prize (probably 4 skeins of cpy yarn of winner's choice). winner to be selected by random number generator from all those who complete a ufo. and there will be a blog members voted grand prize with bragging rights for the favorite cpy project.

i am so lazy, i don't even want to drag my ufos out to look at. is that bad?! (don't answer that!) i am totally in de-nile! you can call me "cleopatra!"

yeah, i am not finishing my "wip's" (no ufo's for me!). instead, i did start something new!

A Carefree Prize -- a wonderful carefree prize

Wanna see what I got????

Oh yeah, oh yeah, Dr. Laurie sent this to me as a prize from early on . . .

can you believe this . . . I got me some Mini Mochi (2 skeins) in a super-fabulous colorway (Color 102; Lot 2). This is so wonderful. I think I'm going to make something for ME!!! and, of course, have to hide it from my kids.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
