Yankee Fox Mike socks

This is Anne Hanson's Gridiron pattern with Socka 1776 yarn. This pattern is easy, yet interesting and perfect for watching a mystery on tv. I made size large and she says it takes 400 yards. I'm going to have to go with that because there isn't any yardage listed that I could find in English on the label. Fred wore them today when we took some friends flying. :) I posted the start of them on 1/14/09.

Those turned out fantastic, and a perfect match! Thank you, Fred, for modeling them. :o)

Wow........they turned out great. How'd you get to get them so matching? !

Glad you like them. I used 2 balls of the yarn and started each sock at the beginning of the blue printed part of the yarn. This worked matching it until I got to the heel, but it hardly shows. Some balls I have had were poorly printed and another one was wound backwards so I recommend buying 2 balls even though you can knit a pair from 1 ball.

ah, so now fred is expanding his portfolio...foot model as well as scarves. can't wait to see what's next!

the socks came out perfect! but i think the model might need to do something about the "hair"! :oD

LOL about the hair--his and Razzle's. I hadn't noticed the dog hair all over the floor until too late. I'm going to knit a red pair for him to wear at the air show to go with his blue ones following our YFM paint scheme. If he's lucky I'll finish them before my prize yarn shows up and I begin my Round Robin's House socks in the Joyful. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas. Not here as of yesterday when we checked in at the post office.
