12/12/12 KAL - December

With a day to spare! Finally got pictures of my 2nd scarf so I could be absolutely sure I had enough yardage.

Both crocheted scarves took about 300 yards of yarn and are my own modified design of the Luna Lovegood Scarf. The knitted gloves took somewhere around 100 yards and is a pattern you can find on Witchyknit's blog. All three were knit with KnitPicks Swish DK. I believe what we have here is Doe, Dove Heather, and Marine Heather.

I have another scarf that I don't think will count for either December or the new KAL. It makes me sad. I started it after Christmas and I'll be blocking it tonight. :-(

November 12/12/12

I hope it isn't too late! I did so much stuff in November and then I completely forgot to put them up here. -_-

I couldn't even tell you what my total yardage is, but the blue scarf alone was over 300 yards of crochet, so I know I used well over the minimum amount.

I'm too lazy to separate things out for the Holiday Kal, too. Heh. I don't feel like figuring out yardage right now to make sure I meet requirements for the 12/12/12 before splitting the rest off.

First I did Quirky Scarf from Crochet World 08/10 edition as a gift for my mom.

I still had yarn so I also made her Caron's Tri-Color Cloche with some modifications to make it more bucket-y.

Made a Trogdor doll for my boss! The original pattern doesn't have teeth. I think I'm going to have to add some. Probably out of felt.

Made a Luna Lovegood scarf for my MIL. I didn't like either of the two patterns out for it so I modified it pretty good. I'll be putting up the pattern after Christmas, since I have to make 3 more of these and they all follow my blog. =D Neither picture has an accurate color. The finished one is closer but the color is a bit darker than that. Also I think I'm going to have to block it.

And finally I knit a Hermione hat for my Grandma. She saw mine the other day and said she wanted one just like it. =D

October Finish!

I finished this on Friday and just took a good picture earlier today.

This is a Sunflower Afghan by Melissa Bennett, which was published in Crochet Today for August 2010.  I used a size I hook and all of the yarn is in Loops and Threads Impeccable Solids.  I used a little more than 2 skeins of green, a little less than 2 skeins of yellow, and a smidgen more than 1 skein of brown. About 1300 yards total, I believe.  It's a cozy throw big enough for one person, and is for my mother's birthday this coming week.

September Finish

I finished my project for September in 11 days. Yay!  I just got some pictures of me with it on today, though.

I've made the  Lady Grey Lace Shrug by Rachel Erin in Knit Picks Palette, colorway Garnet Heather. It took me 2.5 or a smidgen less balls, so I'm at about 575 yards. I am pretty sure I used a set of size 4 knit picks interchangeable needles for this. They might have been 5s but I doubt it.

This was a really quick knit except for the darned cuffs, but since I did that monstrosity of a yellow shawl earlier for the WIP KAL I'd done edging like the cuff edging before and it didn't take as long as it would have.

12/12/12 August Finish

I finished this apron yesterday, but I didn't manage to get a picture of it finished on the computer until today. I made it with size 8 needles. The blue is Lily Sugar & Creme in Hot Blue, and the lighter is Pigsah's cotton in Ombre. It came out to about 700 yards-ish.

The apron is Knitty's Party Apron and I slightly modified the TARDIS chart from the Exterminate Hat.

I didn't realize until I finished it that I never got a good "in the works" picture. I mean, I'd taken one and posted it up as a preview pic for the person I made it for on August 21, so I hope that's enough. I'd just gotten a bit further than the row of TARDISes and wanted to show them off.

July Finish

Alright guys, here we go!  Besides all the tiny stuff I made that I'm not counting because it's a pain to take in progress pictures, I did two hats and a toy this month. And I'm still working on the shawl for the wip thing too. I forget when that ends, though.

Hermione Hat 2
Paton's Classic Wool in Aran
Size 5 needles
160 yards

I modified this pattern a bit at the end. The link to my Ravelry project has the mods for now. Eventually I'll stick it in my own blog. I'm also crocheting a bunch of flowers for her to pin on to it.

Wilf's Hat
Paton's Classic Merino Wool in Bright Red
Size 6 needles
167 yards

I bought the airplane pin for it on ebay. I hope the recipient likes it.

Eevee
TLC Heathers in Nutmeg, Bernat Satin Solids in Camel
Size G Hook
Somewhere in the vicinity of 150 yards

12/12/12 for June

Let me know if you think I need more yardage. I have some little things I can add do it that I did this month. :)

Crochet Shawl: Tropical Tea Party
Blog Post: Rip It Good
Hook Size: F
About 460 yards of Knit Picks Stroll Handpainted in Tea Party

And to make up the yardage, I made two amigurumi. The mouse is a modified pattern and I posted that, also.

Penguin Amigurumi
Mouse Amigurumi

Both done in worsted weight I had sitting around.

May: OMG DONE!

I actually have my own blog now and it seems like such a waste to post everything twice, so I will provide two links for the relevant projects and basic info and you can get the rest of my comments over at my blog. =D

I think I may have done enough to count it as 2 projects this month but I'm unsure about crochet yardage.  Also peek at my blog for other projects that were tiny so I didn't bother taking a picture of in progress for this KAL.

First: Spring Surprise Baby Blanket
Crocheted bernat baby sport at about 700 yards. Yay!

Second: Kerttu Socks
Mystery yarn - I want to say between 200 and 250 yards somewhere.

April 12/12/12: Pretties!

I started this shawl in March and got a bit bored with it so I put it down. Now I've finished it for April!  It's called the Gothic Revival Shawl and I shared out my Ravelry project page: http://ravel.me/Calophi/grs

This was mystery wool and I used two skeins of it. I only have a few yards left - probably enough to make a cat toy, but not much more than that. I figure the shawl used between 320-400 yards but I have no idea how much was actually in skeins. I weighed them at one point and compared to other worsted wools and figured it for 160-200 yards a skein.

I did the pattern with repeats as written, on size 10 needles.

March 12/12/12: Hang on kiddies, this is a long one!

Okay you ready for all the crap I did this month? :)

First I made a Tit Bit out of Naturally Caron spa. I figure it's 40-50 yards or so.

Then I finally dug out the skein of hideous looking Lion Brand Alpine Wool my mom gave me and made a hat (Foliage) out of that, which was promptly gifted to the new product manager at work. I used the entire skein of wool, so that's 93 yards for that project.

Then I dug out some more yarn left over from other projects and knit Gargantuan melon, only I cut it down to 60 stitches. It's done in Lion Brand Chunky and I figure it's 75 yards or so. The pattern has a bigger yardage but I find it hard to believe I used that much.

After that I still had yarn left so I went on to mitts. Except I didn't have enough for the mitts so I had to buy MORE yarn. ::sigh:: Anyway, these are the Susan Mitts and I figure I spent another 75 yards on them, because I made them longer, added more thumb, and used smaller needles.

And last but not least, the Artistic hat, made out of Lion Brand Jiffy and taking a whopping 100 yards at least. I still have some yarn left over, so I'll probably do something to go with it later, I think.

So that leaves us with about 384 yards total of knitted goods this month. And that isn't counting the shawl or scarf I started. Oi. :)
