I will post the finished pics which I took all at once after they were given a bath and patted to dry. The light wasn't good that day, but with 12 guests coming in a couple of hours, it was the best I could do. I'm going into overload trying to post these. Lesson for next time is to post the start and then take a pic of the finished items in a group. Wish I had done that this time! Sorry it is such a muddle and not as interesting to look at, but after all of this, I wanted to post them. I have lots more that I won't be posting. Need to get back to the 12/12/12 sock!
All of these cloths went home with my friend, Cheryl to use in her new house. I think I posted the starts of these already. Monday, December 13, 2010
holiday gift entry given to Chris
I am getting lost trying to find some of these pics in my computer to show progress and finished items. I think I posted most of the starts already. All have been given to our friend, Chris who is now hooked on handknit dishcloths which of course delights me. The British Isles cloth and helicopter are Marilyn Wallace designs. Alligator, roo, and horse are by Lisa Millan.
Smaller rooster by Rhonda White. Larger rooster by Alli Barrett.

And under the wire…….

I skid in with one whole wopping Holiday kal entry. Life is good.
I used Microfiber Ribbon from Tess' Designer yards, coming in around 650 yards.
Happy knitting everyone! :)
12m/12p/12boy - December 2010 Completed- Brenda (Owlsrook)
Completed December 2010 Project - Double Irish Moss Scarf in Crystal Palace Mini Mochi #108-Neptune. I used two 50 gram balls of yarn for this project which is 390 yards as per the ball bands. I had exactly 2 inches of yarn left when I finished casting off. (got a little nervous on the cast off row that it would run out.)
I used a 4mm circular needle and 52 stitches to make this a wide enough scarf to turn the shawl collar & allow it to be closed with a shawl pin.
Can't beleive we are already at the end of this years KAL. I decided at the beginning of this years KAL to do all 12 projects in Crystal Palace yarns, and I have enjoyed knitting and designing with each one.
Now have to start planning for 2011.

Holiday Kal-3

The 30" square blanket is part of a layette for Tatiana's baby girl, due in a few weeks! It's knit using Plymouth Encore (wool/acrylic blend), and the pattern caused the edges to pull in and not lay flat, so I used a steam iron to 'kill' the acrylic, and it then washed and dried beautifully!

Yardage: 280 grams/560 yards
Needles: 5.0mm/US8
The little Feather and Fan bonnet is knit from Plymouth Dreambaby.

gift entry
I recently got some red cotton 10 ply yarn (scarce as hen's teeth here in Oz) with Christmas gifts in mind. I decided to make some patriotic cloths and KEEP all of them as a gift to myself. :) I liked knitting all of them and they were fast, fun, easy and I like the finished items. I took some progress pics and one of them all together. 5 patterns, 6 cloths (tried 2 different needle sizes for one of them and decided I prefer the 4.00mm for this yarn).
See my Ravelry project page for more details of any of the cloths I've made recently (peacockmom on rav). All of these were made from Bernat Handicrafter Holidays solid in Christmas Red. Patterns are: Heart Flag and Flag in a Heart designed by Lisa Millan; USA Star by Carol Callaway; American Flag Dishcloth by Emily Jagos; and Long May She Wave by Sue Schaefer.
12/12/12/ entry started last night
Chicklets sock pattern by Anne Hanson using "night shade" colorway in Panda superwash wool. After all the dishcloths I've been making lately (will post many of them before the 15th, entry final date) it is nice to get back to making socks. I'm trying to avoid my typical second sock syndrome making the 2 of them at the same time, but on different magic loop needles.
We've had more peachicks hatched around Thanksgiving (we call them "chicklets") so this is particularly appropriate for now. :)

December Socks finished.
Final Holiday post
12m/12p/12boy - December 2010 In Progress - Brenda (Owlsrook)
My December Project is a Crystal Palace Yarn, Mini Mochi Scarf in "Double Irish Moss Stitch", colour is Mini Mochie #108 - Neptune. I am using 2 - 50 gram balls of this yarn to make this scarf, have just finished the first ball and starting the second.
Using size 4mm needles.
This is a nice simple textured stitch, I like it for scarves and fingerless mitts.
