52 week KAL May maz

Here is my Fishermen´s summer sweater finished pic. Don´t know the yardage, because I twisted 8 threads of a pure bamboo weaving yarn into a knitting yarn without knowing the NM or tex, but it is worsted and knit on 3,5mm circulars. Being my size (XXL) it might qualify for a full project.
I will be wearing it in Coventry for the Ravelry UK Day this weekend.
(Yes, I know, I am German, but they did a good job and there was a cheap flight...All in all this will be cheaper than going to the German Raveller´s meeting in September, where I am honoured to give classes in "Designing your own Aran Style Sweater". I am so looking forward to it.)

Another One Bites the Dust

Another project finished! Status Jan. 1 one mitt finished and one mitt about 1/3 knit.

The pattern is Stulpen by Petra. The pattern was written in German, but the English translation is lower on the page. The yarn is Regia 6 ply from my stash. I knit 2 pairs of these with my nieces in mind, but we didn't see them for the holiday, so they go in the gift basket for the future.

it doesn't count but i love it

I just finished this new hat design with a new colorway of Crystal Palace Puffin yarn - amazingly soft yarn that's perfect for babies. it's done in new Pink print and rosewater (pale pink). I had fun with the mini-cables, and will do a boy's version, either with a non-ruffled sun brim or just rib.

but it doesn't count for this KAL - waaah! b/c i forgot to get a progress pic. used almost an entire ball of puffin pink print in the huge ruffle, and still have almost half a skein left from the hat body!

these are all potatoes from our garden. don't know if you can see but it is 4 varieties
all-blue, peruvian purple, all-red, and red-skin. i'm on south beach this week so can't eat any potatoes, but later the colored ones are lowGI relative to white potatoes and so will be on my meal plan. the wonderful blue ones are also super healthy as the color comes from the anti-oxidant -anthrocyanin i think- that makes blueberries blue and super good for you.

blessings, L

ps the hat pattern will likely be posted as a free pattern shortly - watch puffin free patterns and What's New
