These socks are for my grandson, who has small feet, so I'm including a scarf for another grandchild.
This was knit in one 24 hour period. The yarn had no label and I don't know the yardage.
The socks were started on November 6 and finished on December 6, 2011. Yarn is KnitPicks Stroll in merlot heather color. Needles are US #1 - 2.25mm and the patter is from an old Stahl Socka book.

Prime Time May
I have declared my scarf project finished on Ravelry, although I will continue to knit them until I run out of bulky yarn or get tired of them. I have used over 650 yards of yarn, 9 different balls. I have them all listed on my Ravelry project page. Needles varied from size 10 to 11. I used the size suggested on the ball band. At least one was crocheted. They are 4-5 stitches wide and 5-6 feet long or until I ran out of yarn. I knit one sideways on 175 stitches and 9 rows. Most are garter stitch mindless knitting. The12 scarves plus any more I knit are being donated to charity through my guild.

Prime Time - May
Since some of my knitting is Crystal Palace yarn, I'm designating this charity project for Prime Time. The charity is women2women-knitting4peace. I'm doing skinny "fashionista" scarves which will go to kids in third world countries as a reward for doing things like show up at the medical clinic. I have knit 6 scarves so far for a total of 239 yards. I'm getting odd balls of bulky yarn out of my stash. One scarf is purled I-cord, the others are garter stitch on 4 or 5 sts until I run out of yarn. I plan to do at least 10 scarves by the end of the month.

More for Me!
I posted earlier about these mittens. (Details on February 1) They took 196 yards of worsted weight wool and are my own design. Of course, they match my coat. I wore it to the yarn store.
By them selves, they are not enough yardage. Then I remembered the KAL on Ravelry. We did/are doing a two color brioche scarf from Knitty called Rodekool. Yarn called for is CPY Mini Mochi.

I ran short on yarn, frogged back, still was a little short, was able to get yarn from someone else, and I finished about January 30 for the final time. 195 yards of yarn.
Yarn: CPY Mini Mochi in Neptune Rainbow
Needles: US #5/3.75 mm

Originally, I had bought another yarn, because I don't have local access to Mini Mochi. Decision was made to knit the scarf in that yarn also. I'm not sure who will wear the scarf, it may become a gift. One yarn is Jojoland Melody superwash. The other is Aussi Sock. The pattern is tricky, so I decided to knit it again while I remembered the tricks.

More August Finishes
I finished two scarves. The green one was started in January and saved for times when I needed easy knitting. A shop hop trip with my guild provided the time for finishing. The yarn is Noro Matsuri.
I also finished my Swiss Cheese scarf. This was a guild KAL, using a rayon blend cone yarn that I bought a long time ago because it was pretty. My daughter asked for fingerless mitts for running, but she wanted her thumbs covered. The chosen yarn, which has purple in it, is Patons Stretch Cotton Socks. I then used Wool-Ease for short covers for cooler days. I figured that if she is running in
even colder weather, she has something else to wear.A new great grandson
will be joining the family in September. He will get a new hat, since he can wear the sweater I knit for his sister. It looks like a tomato. The patter is Ann Norling's Fruit Hat pattern.Final finish is a pair of Lucy Neatby's Fiesta Feet. They've been on my to-do list for years, and the challenge for the Ravelry SKA was stranded knitting. The
feet of these are stranded. Last night someone counted up how many patterns there are on the socks (6). The woman is crazy, but I think we suspected as much.I have shown in progress pictures for some of these (not the tomato, which was knit in one afternoon), but threw them up here anyway. I already have credit for an August finish. It was a good month for finishing.

Progress report
Ravelry SKA Mystery sockThe final clue came out this morning. Sock #1 is finished. Knitting goes faster when the clues come out on my day off from work. The yarn for clue #4 is Dream in Color Starry. The sock is by Chrissy Gardiner.

Swiss Cheese Scarf
This is a knitting guild KAL. I have marked the middle and the scarf is 65% complete. Yarn is a mystery cone yarn, which appears to be a cotton/rayon mix.

Some holiday knitting
I started early this year. I have finished 2 1/2 pairs of socks for some of the young men in our family. Last year I knit socks for all the women. In May I finished socks for my son. pictures on my blog.I seem to have missed showing the next pair on my blog, but they are for the DH of DD#1. I don't seem to have a picture of the finished socks. Here's a view of the pattern. The pattern is Crusoe from Knitty by Marilyn Roberts, because they are stranded. The yarn is from Herrschner's, bought on sale a couple of years ago.
I finished one more sock this weekend, for husband of DD#3 (The man I skipped got socks last year). I'll show progress on that in another post. I also have a scarf and some dishcloths in my gift drawer, with no particular person in mind.
