My "ME" Post

I feel so lucky - this KAL thing is a real racket! Knit with beautiful yarn and Susan sends more yarn. {{{Susan}}}.
The Panda Superwash was my Closet Cleaning prize. It is a bit more green than in this picture. The others were for finishing the Rodekool - Sausalito in Mediterranean and Mini Mochi in Spice Market, I think. They are all gorgeous and I can't wait to use them.

These are for ME. Knit in lace with very little give, I ended up adding stitches and dropping a needle size. They are Niagara Falls by Janel Laidman knit in Lorna's Laces, the Midway colorway.
85 grams = 323 yards.

All About Me - Kate made a pair of socks :)

I made a pair of socks :) I've never done that before... these are: Norfolk Ramblers from Loumms Year of Socks. I'm working my way up to some really pretty yarn a friend gave me last year, in the mean time I'm quite proud of myself. The yarn is Schachenmayr Regina in some color I can't translate from the German :) it's 125 meters/50 g they weigh 80 g so I think I used around 215 yards..

ME KAL

The socks after a design of Cindy Craig are finished too. I modified heel and toe as I didn´t manage to follow Cindy´s directions without creating holes along the heel (it´s my fault, I saw other better examples) and the toe had to be round for me. They are cozy and I love them.
What a fine idea to make us knit something for ourselves.

Prime Time February

There is some more new yarn!!!!
A soft envelope came and two wonderfully soft Pandas found their new home.
Thank You, Susan!

This is the Baby cardigan finished.

Someday there will be buttons too, but the colour is difficult to find.

Meanwhile the camera has changed, but the photographer didn´t. The camera is good now and the photographer will adapt to the options given come time.

February Project

Here is the second pair of gift socks, this time for his aunt. Yarn is out of stash again, Schoeller & Stahl Allround, color 23. Hopefully they will fit. Doing socks based on her daughter's estimate of foot size compared to her own foot size is a little nervewracking. However, with several females in the family, they should fit someone, or they can mail them back with details of what needs adjusting. One pair to go, and then I can start playing with some of the lovely CP yarn. Regards to all, aj

Casting on for March

I cast on for March on Sunday and started working on a stained glass purse.  This is where you carry novelty yarn along with your wool and then felt it.  I am using fun fur in pastels.  I have so much of this stuff and this seemed to best way to get rid of it.  Here is the beginning:

It's all Easter egg colors so I am calling it the "Easter egg" purse.

prime time february

Hi , here are is one more. It is a puppy sweater for my neighbor's furbaby. She is adorable and just a little bullet running around she is so cute. Unfortunately they are on vacation. Papa is an Oregon Ducks fan so I had to do green and yellow. I posted a progress pic earlier ( I am looking for a Ducks icon/badge to put on the back. But, since it is something specific that I want I can not find it! .And the progress picture of my final item to make February's amount! I also have three lip balm holders to add too. ( They are for the two receptionists and my surgeon and little gifts.) I do not have a needle large enough to weave in the ends. The yarn is huge and I am not sure how to do it. Any ideas would be cool.
I used Encore for the sweater and Lion Brand for the cowl. I picked pink because of me going through my cancer thing. Tomorrow I will know what treatment I will be doing too. I am so excited to just get going and being able to knit again! YEAH. Missed the whole me,me,me thing but got this done. It was way too much really. I like when I can just do a pretty pair of socks instead.

February items

Three smaller items came ready this month. Two hats, and one little octopus. The octopus sure was fun to do, as were the hats. One of the hats was a small experiment for a stitch combination that looked difficult, but was really simple.

Ok... yardage...
Both hats took 200 meters of Mohair, and the octopus 115 meters of Knit Picks Palette; recalculated in yards I came at 344 yards.

Onwards to March ;-)

So, my February primetime got off to a rough start. I picked a project, cast on, knitted away happily... and then I tried it on. Ugh. Too small - got frogged. I think it'll become a sweater for the other half (it's the Cascade Eco wool - really nice, I think he'll like it).

So, project #2 for February needed to be something quick, easy and useful. I had been dying to make the Lanesplitter skirt ever since I saw it up on Knitty, but I just couldn't justify the cost of the yarn. Lucky for me, it came on sale (half price) at elann.com so I snatched up what I needed and cast on for the skirt.

I have to say - this skirt was a lot of fun. And it was fast. Alternating the skeins every two rows and getting the colors to not match was a bit of a challenge as some of the colour changes lasted longer than others. I think it turned out rather well though, and I'm looking forward to wearing it. I have a pair of black suede boots that will look awesome, just need black tights, and of course for the snow to melt! Oh and for the yarn details - it used 6 balls of Noro Kureyon, at 100m/ball, so I got the required monthly yardage - yaay!

ME ME ME finished

Pettine by Corrina Ferguson with Crystal Palace Panda Silk I dyed in the crockpot. 2 skeins used with 8 gms left. I am delighted with the results and enjoyed every minute knitting with this yarn. I think it might be one of my all time favorites. It feels great and drapes beautifully. I LOVE this yarn and definitely plan to knit with it a lot more. I bet you've guessed that, right? :)
The color is prettier in person and so are the feathers. Hard to capture the color in this light.

February Primetime Post

My first pair of knit gloves were a bit of a challenge but I finished. The pattern is Knotty Gloves and I used Knit Picks Gloss Sock yarn which is wool and silk blend. I used 1.5 skeins which is about 330 yrds.

The colours on my camera are not working great but they are a dark purple and look better on my hands than off them. They fit okay. The thumbs are a bit weird but overall, I like them.

Jill (jaerrt on ravelry)

Just for me

I have spent a lot of time sitting in different doctors offices in Feb. I kept these socks in a bag that I carried to all of the appointments. So I named these Doc's Orders. The yarn is Hazel Knits. A yarn I had never knitted with before but promise I will again. The pattern is
tiki-tiki. Yes, it is another Adrienne Fong pattern.

February Prime Time odds & ends

groenenvaren

pouches

February was loads of fun. I finished my Groenenvaren (Rodekool but not red or cabbage). I'm done with using my shirt with my cast iron pans, because I now have little felted pan handles. I've wanted these for a long time and just never had enough wits to remember at any time other than at the stove. Finally, I got tired of my US coins mixing with my euro coins, and made a couple of little pouches. I really like the fat purple & white one. It all came out to a skosh more than 300 yards.

Prime Time KAL February!

Well here is my February project. This was my first time reading a chart and I must say it went very well. I did 18 repeats on each half and was only left with a few yards of yarn. Talk about cutting it close. I am hoping to get better pictures when it is finished blocking.

Knitting for me again

I have knit up my 12/12/12boy prize. I used the CPY pattern called Panda Silk DK Shawlette with Lace Pattern. Again I ran out of yarn. I finished one pattern repeat short and used garter stitch for the edge. It is not blocked yet. 240 yards is not quite enough to qualify for a prize, so we'll see if I finish anything else for myself.

Casting on 'Daybreak' in mini mochi for 'it's all about ME'

Hi! This is my first knit-along. Yahoo! I am lucky enough to have quite a bit of time each day knitting because I ride the train to work. So, I've (ambitiously?) casted on Stephen West's Daybreak in two of crystal palace's mini mochi colors. I love the way it's coming out so far. Can't wait to see all of your 'all about ME' projects. My picture kind of looks like a smiley face. Didn't plan that ... I swear :-)

welcome

to....porkchopknits (patty) who finally decided that she needs to do some "ME! ME! ME!!!" knitting!

Prize from 12/12/12 KAL

How lucky are we!!!! (For those of us that participated in the Carefree 12/12/12 KAL each month.) I finally got a decent picture of my prize... Susan, thanks sooooo much and Adrienne thank you for keeping us all informed. What a great group!!!

Prime Time KAL - 2/11 Finished

Hi All... I knit this scarf for a friend that has been through the wringer this past year. Hopefully she will like the colors as much as I do. It is a feather and fan pattern with a fingering weight cotton yarn. No clue what the yarn is because it was given to me. I used a size 10 needle and it is well over 300 yards. Happy Knitting - Renee' aka yoyosocksister

Second "Its all about me KAL"

Lacey shrug from knitty.com 750 yards This fits so nicely! It would probably be great out of CPY's fuzzy merino. I would be crazy enough to knit this again too.

February Prime Time KAL posting

I knit a lot this month. It has been a fairly stressful month.

February PrimeTime

I'm lovin' me some Mini Mochi.

First my Rodekool scarf in my prize yarn, Flame Rainbow. I ran out of yarn and still need to ravel back the second end and use a purple that matches more closely, but I've declared it done. Glad I stuck with this even though there was much yarn and hair pulling involved. I ordered Nancy's Marchant's Knitting Brioche book so more for me.

Next, I finished a pair Adrienne's Jasmine Lace Fingerless Mitts in Bodega Bay. A very sweet pattern with the pretty ribbing at the wrist up to the hand. I'm thinking Christmas gifts for 3 nieces.
Total 94 grams of Mini Mochi = 366 yards
