November 12m/12p/12boy

This is my finished project for November. It was a test knit for MrsZoomie(ravelry name) for her Jacobite Cardigan design. I LOVE it!! I used Berroco Vintage in Fennel and it took 4 skeins (so 868 yrds). It is perfect for fall and winter and I have had lots of compliments on it already.

Sorry about the picture quality. They were taken by my 8 year old!

Holiday KAL Finally!

After nearly a year, you would think I would hae figured out how to get the writing on top of the picture, but no such luck...lol. I have finished some projects for the Holiday KAL finally.

The first is called Twister (pattern by Susan B. Anderson). I used her Spud & Chloe Sweater yarn in Grape Jelly colour. It's basically a very long skinny cowl that you wrap around your neck several times. It took 2 full skeins , so 320 yrds. WIP pic above. Finished pic below.

The second is a Booga Bag for my neice for Christmas, I modified it a bit to make it more of a drawstring purse. The knitting didn't take to long, but it took me forever to felt it and do the finishing. I used Paton's Classic Wool in a Burgundy Heather and used nearly 2 full balls which would be 446 yrds. (I had about 10gm leftover). WIP above, Finished project below.

I have a couple more projects on the needles, so will hopefully crank them out soon too!

November project

Hi all!

I thought I'd share another project that I knit with CPY yarn this year.

Here's a progress pic:
10.10.10 006

And the finished socks:
11.18.10 001

Pattern: Through The Loops Mystery Sock 2010
Cast on: 10/1/10
Finished: 11/18/10
Yarn: Panda Cotton - Coral Sea
Needles: US1 magic loop
Estimated yardage: 300 yards

I'll also share a close-up of the foot:
11.18.10 003

I was afraid this yarn might be too busy for the pattern because she recommended a solid or semi-solid, but I LOVE how these turned out. These will be a Christmas gift for my mom, so I hope they fit her.

Nov 12/12/12

This month I did get a few things finished. I finished Abby's socks just in time for her birthday. I used the pattern Afternoon Delight by Silvia Harding. A fun pattern I got to use beads so the sock had a little bling to them. I had yarn left so I made a triple I-cord head
band. Added beads into it and she loved it. I used one of my favorite dyers Zen Yarn Garden, I love working with her yarns they are a dream to knit with.

I also finished a mindless pair of fingerless mitts the weather was on the cold side her in the Pacific Northwest and my fingers where cold.
I stopped by my LYS and picked up 2 different skein of yarn to use Wisdom Yarn Poems. It is a single ply wool and I like how the colors flow much like Noro which is the other skein that I bought.

I'm working on the other pair. I just love it when people say "Can you make me a pair?" Not asking if you have the time or not or if you have 5 other things on the needles. But at least this is truly mindless knitting.
Happily knitting. Bye

November Finish

I finally finished these. Started Oct. 1 and finished Nov. 23. These are a Ram Club selection from earlier this year. The yarn is Verve from the Unique Sheep, in colors Summer Solstice and Winter Solstice. The pattern is Alp Hikers by Charles Voth.

I knit the size Small in width and XL in length. There were 300 yds of each color, and I have about 50 yds of the lighter color left.

Progress updates.
I now have one red sock finished. It's the SKA November Mystery Sock by Lisa Stichweh. The yarn is Handmaiden Casbah.

The other sock is one of my designs. The cable resembles chain link fence. The yarn is Plymouth happy Feet Dye for Me, dyed by my local yarn store Susan Yarns.

12m/12b/12p Midnight at the Oasis

The scarf is the pattern Renee's Lace Class Scarf, and was knit with some lost label merino yarn which I dyed using Wilton's Food Paste.

The scarf took exactly 400 yards, and sadly, is only 4 feet long. The scarf is part of a set which includes gloves.

Holiday 3 KAL

These gloves were knit from yarn which I dyed using Wilton's Food Paste. The gloves are part of a gift set, and go with the Midnight at the Oasis scarf I knit for the November 12m/12b/12p.

12m/12p/12boy -November 2010 In Progress - Brenda (Owlsrook)

Here are my Menehune socks in progress - This is Adrienne's pattern by the way. I am making these in Crystal Palace Panda Wool in the colourway ""Periwinkle", it is the most lovely soft purply shade, that my camera wants to ruin by making it look blue in some photos. Look on the Crystal Palace yarn site to see the true shade (then order some, its wonderful).

This is my project for the month of November. We moved this month and I am a little buried and even tho' I should be unpacking, I will finish these by the end of the month. Power of positive thinking! Just finished the decrease on on the gusset on both socks so I'm doing ok. I am using the Margarita Summer pattern by Denise Henderly from 50 Socks - 50 States and Shibui yarn with size 2 square needles.

My blue babies

I forgot to post these for Oct. This first one every time I took a pic of it the color seemed different. This was a KAL 22 leaves shawl. Once a certain amount of knitters were done with the clue the next one came out. This shawl had 2 different endings. I chose the crocheted bind off as I had not done that on a shawl yet.

The finished shawl. I do like this. First time playing with wollmiese.
I also test knitted a shawl. This one also could be blocked out to the ends different ways. I decided to do point, but may block it out to be scallops. I used Dream in Color Knitosophy for this one. We did not know the name for a week after we were done. Here is Damask Shawl.

slacker

has finally caught up!

i have updated all the october and november projects up to this point. if you are missing your "O," please let me know.

the holiday projects are also up to date. if there is no number in your holiday kal post, it was not counted (needs minimum yardage!).

WOW! with only 2 months left, there are 17 of you still going strong! truly amazing. i completely flaked! LOL!

My 11th entry to the 12/12/12

Okay, that would have been cooler had I saved it for *next* month, but since I don't trust my memory….. Here's yet another pair of slipper boots. This is a folded cuff pair using 750 yds of knitpicks something yarn, again doubled. Yes, it's the same yarn with pics taken from the ever lovely camera phone. If anyone happens to know who ran off with the cord to my camera, I'd love to know where it went. Okay, I know the last person to touch it, but they claim innocence. (shocker!) However, isn't it amazing what a third light source will do? At any rate, otn is a shell top for me……which I hope you'll be seeing this year! I have *another* pair of slipper boots to make, but I'm taking a few days off. This pattern is starting to grind on my nerves a bit. Now, the question is "will Shelly actually have something to submit to the holiday kal?" -chuckles-

Hope everyone is well!

Progress pics

First a holiday gift. It's finished, but needs a partner for enough yardage, so I'll show it again later. It's #28 in our family series. Each stocking is different, but follows the same basic design. About 200 yds of worsted weight acrylic were used.

Socks in progress
SKA Mystery Sock - I'm knitting one at a time, because of other commitments. Yarn is Hand Maiden Casbah, and the designer is Lisa Stichweh.

Second sock is from the Ram Club, called Alpine Hiker designed by Charles Voth. As the club implies, the yarn came with the pattern. It is from the Unique Sheep. I had to reknit the foot, because it was too small, but this try fits. They're for DH.

"Knitted Apple Cloth" by Rhonda K. White (also free on rav) in 10 ply cotton with 3.75mm needles.

Lily (part of future gift category entry)

Pattern is "Muguets (Lily) Dishcloth" by Danielle Cote available free on Ravelry. I made 5 repeats to make it more of a square. Loved making this pattern which is fast and easy. I started it last night and finished it about noon today and realized I had not taken a progress pic to post yet, hence the binding off photo. I will add it to the group of blocked cloths when I make the final entry. Definitely making more of this one for gifts. 8 ply cotton from Bendigo Mills here in Oz using 3.5mm needles.

November Project Started

These are socks for the husband. I think that I lucked out since he likes stripes and wild colors!
