clarification re: contest for most cpy projects: projects knit with crystal palace yarns count for both the regular 12m/12p/12boy AND the cpy contests and must meet the yardage requirements. each completed cpy project counts as 1 credit (shown as an * after your name).

Birthday Cowl Pattern
Show-off Stranded Socks - Complete For January
I had happened to find this yarn at my LYS and was really taken with the primary colors. I thought that the stranded pattern would work well with the bright colors and never realized this is actually a “little kid” sock yarn!
The pattern was an easy knit and is a very interesting construction. Instead of a standard heel flap and gusset, you actually knit the leg pattern all the way down the back of the leg and put an inverted triangle gusset as you work down. I did mine in a double moss stitch but the pattern has instructions on two other stitches also.
The pattern does eat the yarn up fast though. I used all of the two skeins and had to do the toe of each sock in Knit Picks Essential “Dusk” in order to finish. Probably about 460 yards total.
This is also the fastest I’ve done socks so far. I did the second sock in only 6 days! That may not be fast for some but produced my first knitting related callous!
As you can see my puppy Poky likes them too! =)
January project -- posting just in time
There were 6 ... but the blue one got frogged, as did another greenish/reddish one that went undocumented. They were just too ugly, and I love my sister. That blue one ... way too much like wearing Grover's inelastic pelt.

Last of January 12/12/12 and gift!

February Project

Here is the start of the February Project. Since I am going to be a Grandmother again next month, I thought I better do a baby project. This is going to be a ribbed sweater. This is suppose to be a 6-9 month size, but it looks bigger to me, which I guess is o.k. It will fit her eventually. The Yarn is Bernat Baby Coordinates.
Finished! 12/12/12 January FO

I finished my cardigan! It's also a new pattern by me that you can see in my Etsy shop or on Ravelry. Check it out, it's only $1.99! Anyway, here is my January FO picture.
February Finish

The legs have four colors. The heel is eye of partridge in two colors. There are beads on the ruffle and at the seams of the leg colors.

New project for February - pics of Zachariah's hat, mittens and scarf -- progress photo
So, using some of Joann's Sensation yarns (Rainbow Classic in, I believe, its called Denim) I started on his hat. The hat pattern I used is a simple cap called a tobaggan hat, although for Zachariah, I doubled the ribbing so that it would keep his ears warmer. The mittens were a pseudo pattern that I got from the same book as the hat and the scarf is crocheted, length wise.
I discovered in making the hats for the girls that I can whip one of these babies out in a couple of hours. The mittens are very very simple and I got them out of the same book that I got the hat pattern.
So lets see if I can post some pics . . . keep in mind that I was home all day today (or when i wasn't sitting at home, I was sitting in the doctor's office and a swim meet . . . I get tons of stuff sitting around waiting for the kids).
The top pooled stuff is the cap. I was almost to the point of putting it on dpns. I hate using dpns, so I often put off doing it until I have to do a couple things at once.
The one mitten was done, well, except for the thumb which I needed to use a dpn to finish and the other mitten was mostly done.
And then I finally decided I needed to use the dpns. This is a pick of the thumb completion of one of the mittens:
I am going to use the rest of the yarn to complete the matching scarf.
Intense Rainbow mini-mochi thank you
Finished project for February
BFF Socks (Cookie A.) in Fleece Artist Sea Wool 'Seafoam,' 2.5 mm dpns.I'm fairly happy with them, although I think they'll be a little slouchier than I'd prefer.

Unfortunately, this is the only progress picture I have. She did take a picture of me but I told her that I would hurt her if she didn't delete it.

Another January project
return to the land of oz

bet you didn't think i had other colors besides neptune, huh!? LOL! although i think it would be absolutely stunning in neptune...hmmmmmmm.
February Project start
Here is the start of February's project, and a picture of a UFO that is being finished. Last time I said there would be some nice colors this time. These socks are from Gypsy Girl Creations yarn, here in the Midwest. The large sock is Cosmic Storm and the small one is Winter Solstice. Both are 64 stitches on size 0 needles - only reason for the size difference that I can figure is the needles. Cosmic Storm is on Clover Bamboo and Winter Solstice is on KnitPicks Harmony. If you look closely, you can see little plastic end caps on the Harmony needles. These are from needles that are used to draw blood, the little butterfly needles for people with difficult veins. (The nurses save them for me.) They are quite handy. Sunday, January 31, 2010

January Project: Finished!
February 12m/12p/12boy and a request for help
is my plan in Zauberball black/grey/white colours for my Mom for her birthday. I hope to cast on tomorrow.
I have been test knitting a toddler cardigan that I signed up for on the Free Pattern testers on Ravelry. It is knit in the round and steeked up the centre front to make it a cardigan. I have never steeked before, but loved the pattern, so figured I could do it. So, I knit a test swatch, did the crocheted steek as per Eunny Jang, cut the ladders and it totally unravelled about mid way down and then all the way when I pulled it. Thank God I did a test swatch.
I am wondering if anyone has any advice for me about this? I have been hunting on the internet and some sites have me completly confused and others look like what I did exactly. So, I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask my "circle of knitters" as I am at a loss.
Thanks for any help. If you would like to pm me with any suggestions on Ravelry, I would greatly appreciate it. (My name is jaerrt)

January Project
Note: it took longer to figure out how to use the camera and upload pictures than it did to knit these. It would have gone faster if I had checked to see that there were actually pictures in the camera before trying to troubleshoot. Sigh. Good thing our son is patient about explaining things via e-mail.

Warm Winter Goodies for Jan's 12-12-12
First up is the Ridged Lace Cowl I made with Lion Brand Wool-Ease, in wheat. I used all but a little bit of the skein, so I'd say that's at least 190 yards right there (full yardage 197). Making an appearance in the finished picture is my Hermione Hat that I made last year. =D
Then I made Collected from the Hattitude book in Lion Brand Wool-Ease Chunky, which is about 150 yards per skein. And I used two and a half skeins for the hat, so that comes to about 415 yards total. Yay!
And can you blame me for trying to take a cute picture of it for my facebook? =D It's turned to the side so the tassels would be in it, but they should normally be in the back of course.
